SNEAK PREVIEW! The ORBIT DOUBLE HELIX!
Hey there! I’ve not post anything in a bit due to the ABC Kids Expo that I recently attended. HOWEVER, I just wanted to share video of the Orbit Baby Double Helix. I LOVE IT. It can be purchased as an accessory or as a double stroller. It just slides on the back and locks into place. Watch the video. What do you think? Any questions??

I’m sorry but as a mom of twins, this wannabe double stroller won’t cut it unless you’re carting around an infant and a tiny toddler. The top passenger would most definitely kick the bottom one with the uneven levels. And, the bottom passenger will find a way to collect dust riding so low to the ground. The Peg Perego or City Mini tandem doubles would be my first choice with several options for the passengers… facing each other, facing front, facing back, etc.
thanks for the input! until you see it in person, it does look like the seats are close–there’s quite a bit of room. many in-line strollers have seats close to the ground, and this one looks lower than it is (partly because I removed the footrest on the lower seat). also, the City Mini is not a tandem stroller, it’s a side-by-side, so i am thinking you meant the City Select. the Double Helix is not perfect, nothing is! but, i am VERY excited to see how it performs and how Orbit reacts and improves it based on customer feedback. it’s a tremendous stroller….
Yes the City Select… The City Mini is great but a little too wide although I will say wide is advantageous in a grocery store because people often mistake the tandem for a shopping cart and my poor front passenger has had a few near misses!!
i think it looks great!
I seriously heart Orbit Baby! I am very excited about the Double Helix. One thing I am wondering though; can you attach a sidekick to it like you can the G2?
nope. you cannot put the sidekick on the helix….so for now, it’s just a double–not a triple or quad….
Wow. That is just uber cool. I love that you aren’t kicking the back — I’m 5’9″ and my husband is 6’2″. Its hard to find a stroller that works for us both. It also doesn’t look as long as a traditional tandem — somewhere between a Phil and Teds and a full tandem maybe? I am concerned about the kids kicking each other as a previous poster mentioned — mine are 18mos apart so it would be very one-sided. However that seems to be easily remedied by facing the front seat forward, or only facing it backwards if the other is facing backward too. Other concerns — the fold. I imagine with all the pieces and the bucket like seats this isn’t very compact. That seems to be part of the package though with Orbit. Altogether great and very exciting
will it attach to the G1 frame or do you have to upgrade to the G2 frame?
no, just the G2 frame….
Can it fit two car seats at once?
Yes, the Double Helix will accept two infant seats. I am anxious to see how easy it is to manuever with two children adding weight to it. I love how easy the Orbit is push, I could literally steer it with a pinkie!
