#12DaysOfBabyGuy: The Sequel. DAY TWELVE.

#12DaysOfBabyGuy: The Sequel. DAY TWELVE.

So, this contest has come to an end.  I hope you’ve all enjoyed #12DaysOfBabyGuy:  The Sequel, and I hope you’ll all be around for things I have in-store in 2013.  I’ve got a LOT going on right now that I’ve not been public about, but when I can share I will.  Speaking of sharing, let me share today’s prizes.

Sharing could be today’s motto, but it’s definitely the motto that pediped lives by.  Shoes and baby clothes aren’t really my area, but this year I was fortunate enough to have dinner with the pediped gang at ABC Kids Expo.  I always knew their shoes were cute, well-made, and have memory foam insoles that I am VERY VERY jealous of—what I didn’t know about was their philanthropic work.  In the eight years that pediped has been in existence, they’ve donated $1.7 MILLION worth of product and financial support to children in need (this includes over 445,000 to Make-A-Wish Foundation and 2,000 pairs of shoes to children in Haiti).  Making sure children have a great start, and great shoes, is so important to pediped that they actually began the pediped foundation in 2010.  The operating costs of the pediped foundation are actually covered by pediped management and employees, which ensures that 100% of funds raised by the foundation go to children who need them.  The food at dinner was wonderful, but what I learned about the brand and the friendships I made trump that.  Friends I will continue to support as I can.  Strong work, pediped.  Strong.  Work.  Today’s winner will receive a $200 gift card to pediped’s online store.  Psssst, moms:  they’re launching a line of women’s shoes next year.  Brian James Footwear.  You’ve been warned.  You’ll be comfortable.

Sharing is a wonderful thing for kids to learn, and another way to do this is with SparkBox.  You can think of SparkBox as Netflix for toys.  Working with the absolute TOP brands in the juvenile toy industry (Plan, Tegu, Melissa and Doug, ALEX, and many more), SparkBox sends a box of age-appropriate toys to your door for your kids to enjoy.  They’re safety-inspected, sterilized, and ready for the kiddos to enjoy.  When you’re finished, box them up and send them back—and then you’ll get a new box.  It’s a really cool idea I was actually completely unaware of until recently (toys aren’t really my main focus), but I couldn’t pass on the opportunity to share this with you guys.  The winner of today’s package will receive a 4-month subscription to SparkBox worth $79.

I know you’ll probably have your own toys at home, and if you’ve been following this contest you should be familiar with Swoop Bags.  Constructed of high-quality (and colorful!) canvas, this is a play mat that actually transforms into a storage bag simply by pulling on built-in drawstring cords.  They’re a terrific idea, and can also encourage kids to pick up their own disast—I mean, MESS—and contain it.  The winner receives a Swoop Mini—ideal for smaller toys—worth $24.

If you’ve been following me at all, or have ever been to my site (actually, you’re on it right now–nevermind), you’ve noticed I am a HUGE FAN of Magic Beans.  I love what they do, I love how they do it, I love that they’ve become my “family away from family.”  When I first began working retail at the BigBoxBaby store, I stumbled upon the Magic Beans blog, Spilling the Beans, and realized that baby gear could be fun—that you could be wacky with it and still be informative.  I fully credit them with getting me interested in this industry and continuing to be a source of information, guidance, laughs, friendship, and spectacular food as I forge whatever path this is that I am currently on… Magic Beans is going to give the winner of today’s package a kickboard USA micro mini 3-in-1 scooter.  Suitable from 1-5 years, this scooter  morphs from a seat they “scoot” on through a scooter they can cruise about on, and it retails for $114.99.  Want some other loot from Magic Beans?  They’re also throwing in a $50 gift card.  Shop small biz, kids.  It’s important.

Maclaren is more than a stroller manufacturer.  They also make many stroller accessories that are actually compatible with other brands—regardless of the stroller you have.  I saw these products when I was visiting their showroom in SoHo in NYC, and they’re wicked cute.   Featuring a two-sided design (one with a map design with landmarks all over it, the other with Beg Ben embroidered in the corner), their Reversible Buggy Blanket is warm and great for trendy and well-traveled tots (or those who just want to be).  Their Reversible Seat Liner is also multi-stroller-compatible, and features the same great London design features.  Throw in the bright Luggage Tag, and you’ve got the City Centre Style Set which retails for $60 if you purchase in their online store (a savings of $20).

I am not sure what stroller you’re going to use in your day-to-day life but you’re gonna need to keep it clean.  So you’re going to receive the BuggyLOVE Stroller Cleaning Kit.  They’ve given the winner of EVERY STROLLER given out during this contest one of their wonderful kits.  You guys rock.  You’re gonna love this stuff.  The BuggyLOVE Stroller Cleaning Kit Retails for $49.99.

I’m also a big fan of Clek.  Their booster seats are top-of-the-line in terms of quality and comfort, not to mention the fact that they use LATCH so your booster seats don’t slide all over your backseat when not in-use.  These are booster seats that kids will NOT be embarrassed to sit in, which means they’ll sit in them longer—and that’s a very good thing ;)   Clek is donating an Olli Backless Booster to the winner.  So go pick out which style you want if you win this ;)   OH, and look for my review of the Foonf soon….I am just sayin….

This brings the package of today’s prizes to just over $700.  I truly hope you’ve all had a great time with this contest, and I look forward to the future with you guys.

Oh.  That’s not all.  As if.  Once I am back in NYC in January, the winner will receive a special holiday stocking.  FROM ME.  I am not sure what it’s going to be yet, but IT IS CERTAINLY NOT GOING TO SUCK, I can promise you that.  Could be a baby carrier, could be a stroller, could be a bag of random baby things–could be COMPLETELY NOT BABY-RELATED….who knows???  I wanted this last gift to be different and a bit special–something from ME—and I thought this would keep you guessing ;)  If it is a product, my ONLY stipulation with this one is that I want YOU to review it for ME.  Use it for a bit—send me your thoughts and a pic and I’ll feature it on my site and properly pimp it out ;)   And if you live in NYC, I’ll deliver it to you myself…..if you live elsewhere, if you want to fly me to your house you’ll get the same treatment ;)

And THAT takes the total of this prize package to ?????????????????????????

Go enter now.  And if you win something you don’t need or want, please consider donating to a shelter or charity.

Complicated pregnancy from the get go.) My daughter is 4 months old and was born at 34 weeks. So I am very thankful that God blessed me with my son who is 1 1/2 and my daughter who is 4 month old. THey are both doing great. My wish for them is too have a strong faith in God. They are my miracles and both proof of the power of Prayer. More contests from you would be cool. • Emily says:

I just thought I’d let you know that your review of the Kinderwagon Hop was what pushed me over the edge. I bought one when they were finally back in stock this month. I’m still figuring it out, but I love it so far, and my daughter likes it so much more than the Joovy sit & stand because she gets a real seat again.

They have added a couple of things, like car seat compatibility (they have only tested the Graco Snugride, but my Evenflo Embrace works for me) and bumped up the weight limits. Perhaps you would like to update your review?

  • Leslie G says:

One thing I want you to know about me – I had SO MUCH FUN reading your posts and am thankful for your giveaways! :) Have a wonderful holiday!

  • Wendy Q. Do says:

    What are you thankful for?
I’m thankful that I have 2 strong wills(my twinnies) to live so that I can battle this Stage 2 Hodgkin Lymphoma diagnosis that I received on December 10th at 1:40pm.

What do you wish for your kids?
I wish that my twin girls grow up knowing the difference between good and evil and to live life with a giving spirit and an open heart.

What do you want from me in 2013?
I want you to relax more! You are ALWAYS traveling/working! I want more vacation statuses from you instead of promo/airport updates.

What is ONE THING you want me to know about you?

  • Lindsay Hofmann says:

I am beyond thankful for my 2 boys (4 and 9 months)- the difficulty in trying to conceive both, open heart surgery for our oldest at 11 days old to these 2 absolutely amazing beings that smile, laugh, and make my heart warm each day. I want for them what any loving parent wants- for them to be safe, happy, and healthy. I am learning that fine line of wanting to give them everything to they have to learn they cannot have everything, some may need to be earned or not received at all so that they can be grateful for that in which they do receive. I stumbled upon your site somehow not to long back and am totally addicted to your personality that comes off just from the computer not to mention all of the wonderful products you highlight- some familiar and some brand new that I drool over! What would I want from you in the new year? Obviously to win something (ha, ha), but otherwise I’ll take what I’ve seen so far- humor, caring, and information on awesome products! And as to know about me… Not sure as my life is pretty much summed up in shopping (or window shopping- stress relief!) and spending time with my family- pretty boring life to those not in the middle of it, but pretty amazing to me (corny, but true!)

    • Jamie Grayson says:

i was premature and had surgery a few days after delivery as well. i cannot even imagine how helpless parents feel during that….have a great new year!!!!!!

  • Jolanthe says:

I am so grateful for the work you do educating people! Since I’ve found your blog, I’ve started shopping small businesses so much more now that I know what to look for. I’m much happier because I know I’m supporting local stores and at the same time getting the best quality for my kiddos. Thanks for all you do & MERRY CHRISTMAS!! =)

    • Jamie Grayson says:

yes! i began in a big box, but have realized that it is TRULY small biz that keeps this country going. thank you!!!!

  • Trina says:

This year has been a very difficult year for me. I had a miscarriage last year, and at the beginning of this year I found out I was pregnant. Early on, we learned that the placenta was low and I had a high-risk pregnancy. Even so, I refused to think anything would go wrong. At nearly 35 weeks, I started bleeding and contracting and had to have my baby early with an emergency c-section. My baby spent six days in the NICU.

I am currently the breadwinner of the house. I pushed the limits of our finances to spend two extra weeks at home, and even then, my leave seemed to end too early. We’re riding a fine-line financially at the moment, but we’ll make do.

I am thankful for my older son and my healthy baby. I am thankful I have a job I was able to go back to. I am thankful that there’s enough under the tree for Christmas not to be an awfully depressing failure. Even so, I’d still like to win!

    • Jamie Grayson says:

i know this sounds cliche, but health of family and friends is all one can really ask for. wishing your family much happiness in 2013—now go hug that baby

  • Nicole Petrov says:

    I love these <3

I am thankful for each day that we get to spend with our children and for the surgery that took so much of my husband’s pain away.

  • Monica says:

  • Sarah Stroh says:

We just moved from VA to CA but originally from NYC. This Christmas I am ever so grateful to be on the other coast from both sets of parents. We love our parents, they make great grandparents. However, they were to much in our lives for us to become parents of our own.

I wish for my 16 month old son, safety in his schooling, in his playground and dynamic interaction with people of all race, religion, creed and beliefs.

Lastly, I have had fun wishing for 12 days of all the wonderful things I could have one. Hope the parents that did win are enjoying their bounty.

  • Laura says:

I have the best mom in the world. I have horribly discolored teeth, thanks to way too much fluoride and way too many antibiotics during that crucial time in childhood just before the adult teeth come in. I have always hated my teeth, but I couldn’t afford veneers and dentists always told me just whitening simply would not work. Still, I wondered.

Today, my amazing mother surprised me with a box of the strongest whitening strips available. Merry early Christmas to me! She said she wanted to me smile a real smile in Christmas pictures for a change.

  • Julie says:

I wish soo many things for this planet of ours. This country of ours. These children of ours. I wish that everyone would be able to slow down just a tad bit in life to really be able to enjoy it. People these days seem to always be to busy for the small things. Well folks, those small things are what keep us grounded and what keep us who we are. Your children will not remember you (once you are gone of course) for how much money you made or how quickly you climbed the corporate ladder. They will remember the t-ball games, camp outs, fishing trips….all the “little” things. Those are the memories they hold dear.

Jamie, you have built an extraordinary thing here. No one even comes close to you. The amount of interaction and dedication you provide to your followers is amazing. You are such a personable and enjoyable individual to interact with. Keep up the great work and I wish you the best in 2013!

  • I’m really thankful for my son. I know that’s an obvious answer, but he has truly given me a purpose and genuine happiness. I could say that my life before him, I was lost and just going through the motions of living. I didn’t truly have joy every single day. Regardless how hard times are, how much work has to be done, my son gives me hope, love, and true purpose, and I lovingly strive each day to hopefully do the same for him.

  • Jenny says:

Would love to win this!!! I have 2 & 3/4 kids so all of it would be useful;)

  • Sanjam Dhatt Cheema says:

Jamie, firstly. You. Are. Awesome. And that is true!

It’s been some year. My gorgeous baby turned a big ONE! We, my hubby (the best man I know, will ever know) struggled through many things, transitioning into parenthood, into living here in NYC, our quality of life both skyrocketed and dived deep many a times this past year or so.

I stumbled upon you through stroller traffic and for that, I <3 stroller traffic :) Have a stupendous 2013, and don't change. My wish for us, for you, for everyone is that we all find it within ourselves to leave this world better than we found it. And with fewer guns, if any. Peace.

  • Marie H says:

I wish, I wish, I wish… There are a lot of things that I wish for and there are a lot of things I am thankful for. I think the thing I truly wish for is for my kids to grow up happy. But not only be happy, but to be a good person with good values.

  • Ashley B says:

I want the world to know the amazing, redeeming, unconditional love that is Jesus. It is my purpose on this earth and my only desire for my children. There is truth and purpose in the life and it is fulfilled in knowing God.

Thank you Jamie for these awesome giveaways!

May you know the love of the Savior.

  • Catherine W says:

The swoop bag looks a lot like the bag we had for our Legos in the 1980s. That’s all I have tonight. Hope to win!

  • Brenda Davis says:

I am thankful everyday that my kids are safe. Sometimes I feel guilty bringing them into a world as horrific as this one CAN be. I just hope that they grow to be outstanding people who can make some sort of change for the better. Thank you so much, Jamie, for the opportunities at a chance to win some great products. I know the people who have won so far have been truly blessed this Christmas. I hope you have a wonderful holiday and continue to do more great things this coming year!

You have got me through a rough couple of months… Two years ago today, my fourth baby died at birth. December, therefore, always sucks (and really, everything from Halloween on.) Three months ago today, my fifth darling girl was born. I had planned a VBAC but things did not go as planned. Her cord prolapsed (due to undetected polyhydramnios) and she was born by emergency c-section. She was fine, but her birth was traumatic, to say the least, and I got to have the joy of recovering from ANOTHER c-section (my fourth, whom we lost, was also born by emergency c.) She is a joy, but the recovery wasn’t always fun, I had bad days. And then we were into depression time… Facebook and my other online communities have really helped me recover my spirits and keep from sliding off the edge of that cliff of sadness (well, my beautiful baby helps too.) Anyway, you’re always so funny and fun, I love reading your posts, and how you always seem cheery and have a smile and compassion and generosity in your heart at all times. Thanks for being my “friend” on Facebook!

And thanks for putting up with all my stroller questions when I was funnelling my anxiety into finding the perfect one for me during those last months of my (stressful, on bedrest) pregnancy. I appreciate it even though I went with an Easywalker Qtro which was totally not on your list. ;)

  • Leah Rosenbaum says:

I’m thankful for family and friends. I hope for continued health. Thank you for #12DaysOfBabyGuy: The Sequel, can’t wait to meet you when you deliver the surprise stocking!

  • Valerie says:

I have become absolutely passionate about baby gear since having my son, or more specifically carseat and carseat education/proper usage. I check out carseats now like I used to check out handbags, my husband thinks it’s so crazy, lol.

  • Brigette Yerke says:

After everything in the news lately I am so thankful to have 4 happy healthy children!!!

  • Jessica Carver says:

I found your Facebook page when the leaky boon shared a picture of yours. It was just before the give a ways. I’m so glad I did find it. I love watching your reviews. I love interacting with you on facebook. Im very thankful I wad able to enter these awesome give aways! In 2013 I hope you continue to just be you. Oh and give a way a foonf. LOL

  • Holly says:

My son is currently watching Yo Gabba Gabba (for the first time, I must add), and this just might be the most bizarre thing I have ever seen…

Seriously though, when I was pregnant for my son and taking the baby classes, the final class was a talk done by a local pediatrician. He gave the best advice I’ve ever been given. One of the things he said was to think about parenting goals, and to keep that in mind when making decisions. It gave my husband and I a lot to talk about, and we ultimately decided that we wanted our kids to be happy. Our son is only 23 months, but so far it has served us pretty well.

He also told us a hilarious story about how he shaved off his beard one day when his kids were out with his wife, and his 8 year old son told him he was ugly, and his 4 year old daughter refused to talk to him for a month. My husband goes back and forth between beard and no beard, so I can only imagine what will happen, but hopefully our kids will just be used to it…

  • Lara W says:

I want you to know you are so appreciated and make me smile. That is all! :)

  • Jessica Hughes says:

Thank you for running this contest, and for being a completely awesome, helpful, and insightful guide through the vast, colorful world of baby gear.

  • Angela Sydness says:

Even if I haven’t won anything (ever), this has been a really fun contest. I’m a super proud 40 year old mom of an 8 month old and I extensively research products before I buy. I have bought a few things just because I’ve seen them in this contest! So here’s to one more try!!!

  • Emerald S says:

I would be super thankful to win anything, let alone something my kids would enjoy and find useful! I would love the scooter especially! Hope you have a VERY Merry Christmas!

  • Gina says:

I am thankful that my kids are healthy and that I get to stay at home to enjoy them, as exhausting as it is. I’ve enjoyed entering all these contests and the hope and excitement that comes with the possibility that I could win something that could make our lives easier and happier.

  • Valarie says:

Hi. I’m Valarie, and I’m an internet addict.

  • Alex says:

I love your site but I’d love to see more products for multiples reviewed or considered. As a mom of 2 yr old triplets I deal with many challenges but particularly with gear that is designed for one or maybe 2 kids, it can be hard to find the right product for our family. Thanks for all your hard work though!

  • Hayley says:

Just want to say that I love your suggestion that any unneeded items someone wins be donated if they are not suitable for their children. It seems so simple, but so many people just don’t think about it :(

  • Andrea M says:

First I want to thank you for the giveaways. Second, the question that stuck with me is “What do you wish for your kids?” I think about that a lot. If I can only pick a few things to instill in them, to make them the adults I hope they become, what would it be? I think my final answers are that they are Christ-centered, compassionate and happy. Now to figure out how to make that happen :)

  • Sara Wolf says:

I have absolutely loved your giveaways!! It has been nice learning about new products. I am most thankful for my family and hope 2013 brings me more amazing memories with them…and maybe another baby!

  • Sarah Haman says:

Let’s see if you actually read these: “My name is Messed-Up Mouth. Would you like a waffle?”

    That is all.

    • Jamie Grayson says:

damn huddle house. how i miss thee….and you….sometimes i wish we could ALL go back to Ole Miss just for a week to play again

  • K Howard says:

Just found out we are expecting number 2, so going into the new year I am just hoping for a healthy pregnancy and a smooth transition for my daughter.

  • Nicole Biddle says:

So exhausted. I think I’ll call it an early night. Sweet dreams. :)

  • Erin Kerchner says:

I am so happy I found your site! I wish I had found it before I had my little girl (she is 3 months old today!!) but now that I have found it I am learning so much about products that are so much better for her than what is just the “norm” of baby products. Thank you for all that you do! Merry Christmas!!

  • Megan Borkowski says:

I am thankful for my kids! i hope this next year is just as great as this year has been. I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us next year!! thank you!!

  • Jeannie says:

My twins think you are funny. They look up and giggle everytime I watch one of your videos. ^^

  • Ashleen says:

    Pickles. That is all :P

  • Mandi Pitts says:

I am so excited, nervous, scared, and thrilled to be a first time mom of fraternal twins. I can only hope and pray for a healthy pregnancy and healthy babies.
Jamie, I would like to thank you. You have made me laugh and opened my eyes to the incredible baby products that exist. (I only wish I could afford some of them lol) You are an incredible man, uncle, and baby product tester. Thank you for all you do!

  • Danielle says:

I find your story inspiring. I do have a “real” job, but I’ve always been interested in baby gear, especially car seats. I don’t have any children of my own and I know some find it to be odd that someone with no children is so in to baby gear. You prove that not only can a single person be in to baby gear, but they can be cool, popular, etc.

  • Jessica says:

Thankful for my family. Hope my baby has a wonderful 1st Christmas.

  • Jessica Pellegrin says:

I am thankful for my son being a beautiful happy healthy baby! I am thankful for my family being there for me through thick an thin, and loving me the way they do! I am thankful to be alive and loved and to love.

  • Melissa Highman says:

Since having a baby, I have loved finding out about a whole new world of products. Thanks to people like you, I have become more educated on awesome, worth buying products. Thank you! Please carry on :)

  • Judi says:

i love all the choices i have made for my baby and would not change a thing

  • ToCo says:

I just hope for a safer world! Sounds simple enough, doesn’t it?

  • Sanjam Dhatt Cheema says:

Jamie, firstly. You. Are. Awesome. And that is true! I stumbled upon you through stroller traffic and for that, I <3 stroller traffic :)

It's been some year. My gorgeous baby turned a big ONE! We, my hubby (the best man I know, will ever know) struggled through many things, transitioning into parenthood, into living here in NYC, our quality of life both skyrocketed and dived deep many a times this past year or so.

    Have a stupendous 2013, and don't change.

My wish for us, for you, for everyone is that we all find it within ourselves to leave this world better than we found it. And with fewer guns, if any. Peace.

One thing you should know about me.. I LOVE to travel! We've moved 6 times in our decade of marriage, including having worked/lived in London and in Copenhagen. And I TOTALLY recommend you visit those cities on your next trip to Europe! And and make it in the summer :)

  • Vanessa says:

I wish 2013 to bring more happy and less sad. I hope that the hard times in 2012 make us stronger and smarter.

Wishing you and yours a Happy Holiday.

  • Alia Craven says:

  • Amy Bell says:

So thankful for a new baby this year!

  • Kathryn powell says:

    Merry Christmas!

  • Courtney says:

I’m so thankful for my daughter. After losing my parents at such a young age I always dreamed of being a parent myself.. my doctor told me I may never get pregnant. I guess they don’t know a little thing called fate. I got pregnant the EXACT same time my mother did with me like same day, same age, the only difference is my daughter was born 11 minutes after my birthday. So we’re 26 years and 11 minutes apart my mom and I were 26 years apart. So incredibly special! I love all your reviews and always check out your site before purchasing or even checking out a product! You’re so helpful for every new mommy and even existing ones! So I’m THANKFUL for you too!!

  • Chelsea says:

I am thankful that I wake up each and everyday to a husband that works super hard to provide the life me and my children have, I am also SUPER thankful for the 3 precious boys that God decided were a good fit for me.
One wish for my children is that they grow up knowing God, I think just that will help everything else a piece of cake.
One thing to know about me, I really hope I win one of these lol– Also I am in my opinion an awesome mom.

  • Frayda Gonshor Cohen says:

  • Stephanie Jordan says:

My comment is im sure a little out there but here it goes anyway. Im hoping to survive the next 3 months and welcome our first baby into the world. It has been a hard pregancy and everytime i start thinking baby items i get so overwhelmed. Just having all this info provided has made a few things easier or at least seem easier.

  • kimberly says:

It’d be awesome if you started doing a regular sideline in wine recommendations.

  • Sanjam Dhatt Cheema says:

Sorry.. I’m sure I missed something and I can’t seem to go back to the ‘enter blog post comment’ where I can read your note again.. How do I get back to it? I know you have a TON of entries! Just wanted to make my entry complete to give it a fair shot!

  • Margo says:

I wish for my oldest son to make great strides in this next year and be able to further overcome some of his developmental challenges, and I wish for my baby son to never have to know these challenges personally.

    • Jamie Grayson says:

i wish this for you and more. i wish for your younger son to grow up knowing what an amazing older brother he has and use that knowledge to inspire others to see past people who might be “different”—we’re all flesh and blood ;) have a wonderful holiday :)

  • Brooke says:

I have 2 great children!!! Grayson will be 3 in March and Brynlee is 15 months. Busy mom but love almost every minute of it ;o)

  • Christy says:

I want a happy, safe, peaceful world for my daughter to grow up in.

  • Bonnie DeRaps says:

Even though I didn’t win anything yet, I’m super excited about your giveaways. I learned a lot though them, and now am trying to figure out a way to come up with the money to buy one of those amazing breast pumps and all the other accessories and items from day two. :-)

  • Amanda Dime says:

Jamie, I just want to thank you for opening my eyes up to a whole new world! I first saw you at a Chicago Bump Club and Beyond event in August and since then I trust your advice on baby gear. My hubby and I are expecting our first baby on or around 1/1/13! We are beyond thrilled for this new adventure! Thank you again for your honest assessment of the products you recommend. Check back in a couple weeks to see photos of our baby girl:

  • Jennifer Kreisler says:

I’ve been a big mouth ;-) on your Page for quite some time with much too much to say (The awesome, the impossible and the WTF?!) about strollers and baby carriers. I’m about to go through toddler HELL with a ROAD TRIP coast to coast (we are moving to a new military base). I could use your input on all things to keep kids happy for hours on end in their car seats (one complains of his seat hurting his tushie) and they both are going to need some major distraction!!! I think the smallest folding stroller seems to be a Zee, but maybe you know better (I need to get a single- my double won’t fit in the car with the luggage.) I want you to have such success this year with your personal and professional goals. I want for me, this year to survive this road trip without crying all the way down the Interstate. My crying and theirs!!!

  • Tracy says:

I am thankful for the brand new Lurie Children’s hospital and all their wonderful nurses. As I was bawling, feeling like a failing mother, I handed my 6 day old over to the best staff imaginable! Today he is the happiest 4 month old in the world! And, it turns out I am a pretty darn good mom!

  • Maria Albani says:

I’m absolutely thankful we all survived the Mayans end of the world prediction ((rolls eyes)) No, but seriously I am super thankful I’m finally able to become a mother finally @ 34 yrs old. and I’m looking forward to continue reading your FB posts and blog for future product reviews because honestly, I have no clue and can’t make decisions whatsoever. And now this post is waaaay to long :)

  • Britnie says:

In 2013 I am so looking forward to hopefully giving my two year old daughter a brother or sister. I love your website and following you on various social media sites. • Laura Grace Andry says:

I am thankful for my family. They are extremely supportive and helpful. I only hope that I able to offer them the same kindness and generosity that they continually demonstrate to myself and others.

I wish for y children to grow up in a world without hate. I simply don’t understand why people hate one another. We are all human beings.

In 2013 Jamie I would like more video chat parties. You are so fun and energetic and video chatting parties are the best!

The one thing I want you to know about me is that I am a mommy of two little boys (age 3 and 1) with another bundle of joy on the way and I am still learning fun new things from your blog. #NeverTooOldToLearn thank YOU!

  • Jamie,
Any topic? Gratitude comes to mind. I reflect back on 2012 and have so much to be thankful for. No, life is not perfect but through my experiences I have come to a place filled with balance, ease and grace. Your page and topics have let me look to the other side of many controversial topics. Your humor has had had me giggling when I was knee deep in emails and your generosity has me inspired to do a least a small act of kindness each day. Thank you Jamie for being you, being real and I can’t wait to see what 2013 has inshore for you.

Yep, while I’m thankful for your giveaways+wit, I’m super-duper-thankful for the ability to reside in a country where we have no war surrounding us; no bombs falling on us and no need to choose which kid we carry first to the bomb shelter or protect with our bodies. I’m truly thankful to live in a country where just about every freedom is within reach and– (damn. Postpartum tears/hormones aren’t helping..)

I think I would like to see from your website, a more clear synopsis of baby carriers. Like really this one is better because…but this one does…line up all of your favorites and tell us whats real. (maybe you did this before I came to your site?)
    Thank you for doing this!

  • Jen says:

My husband is military. Today I was so irritated that he’s been going to sleep after working (he’s overseas) lately without calling to say good night. You’re question made me stop and think; I’m just being petty and self-centered. I should be thankful. Thankful that we get free health insurance, thankful that he gets paid well enough for me to stay home with our kids, and thankful that I have such a wonderful husband who is able to risk his life to give his family everything we have.

    • Jamie Grayson says:

that is actually a wonderful way to look at something that is an issue with so many families right now. great perspective. have a wonderful holiday season!!

  • Devon H says:

What I’m thankful for: Finally getting pregnant. My husband and I have tried for 6 years without any kind of “assistance.” I’ve had some health problems the last 2 years as well, and we’ve been trying to get out of debt (another 2 years to go…), and I had come to the point where I had finally accepted that we probably wouldn’t have kids (we don’t have the money for fertility treatments, etc.). I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in September while having some health issues (kidney infection), and was put on the lowest dose of an anti-diabetic med that has a side effect of making you ovulate more. Less than 2 months later, I was pregnant. I’m 7 weeks today. Something that was originally troubling for me turned into a blessing in disguise because now I’ll get to be something I’ve yearned for for a long time: a mommy. Something good can always come out of something “bad.” That’s what I learned this year, and I’m so thankful for that. Thank you so much for the contest. Even if I don’t win anything, it’s been great to finally allow myself to look at baby products and find myself overwhelmed with what’s out there. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.

    • Jamie Grayson says:

completely touched. thank you for sharing and here’s wishing you and your husband a SUCCESSFUL and blessed pregnancy ;)

I’m thankful for my family. I have three beautiful girls whose ages are 5 yrs, 4 yrs and 1 month. My oldest is a wonderful big sister and is so creative. My middle daughter is my special needs baby and is incredibly happy. She is such a joy to be around. My itty bitty baby was quite the surprise and is a very good baby. She loves to cuddle and is very much a mommy’s girl. My fiancé is a wonderful father to our daughters. Hope you have a very merry Christmas!!!

I’m sitting here with the Princess Bride on in the background, my Christmas tree lit up and sparkling next to me, my mother on the opposite couch, my hard working hubby and spazzy dog laying in bed, and my son snuggled up in bed….on a cold wintery night in Alaska. It’s a good good life and I’m darn thankful for all of it. Merry Christmas!

The pressure that comes with an open ended question! … At well past midnight, my holiday baking handouts took way longer than I had planned. (When do they not?) 5 types of fudge and 5 different cookies- I baked up requests. I took requests! Only a crazy person takes requests, I found that out this year. I’m beat, but I’m thankful for the awesome people I work with. They put up with my *charm* when I stay up from web browsing and miss out on sleep. ;-)

Oh and I think it’d be awesome if you let us know about some other small businesses & how to find them! When we were looking at strollers, we wanted SO BADLY to go to a small business like Magic Beans, but the only one I thought I found had closed their LI location. My prayer for this season and the new year is for the love of Jesus to wrap around every man, woman, and child world wide. I am saddened by Jesus’ message of love and hope being distorted by those claiming to be Christians and yet not living the love. Jesus is love! God loves every single person. No one has fallen too far to be away from God’s love, and I am so grateful that he loves sinners like me with His mercy and grace. I pray that I can pass on that grace and love to everyone I meet today and every day I have left on the earth.

I am thankful for family, health, love, you (and that fabulous blog of yours) and above all FAMILY!!!

  • Well I thought so long about this comment that I put the widget to sleep :-P I think to post what I want to post will be unbelievably long. So, I am sending it too you in a private message on facebook. Here I will just say, Jesus came to earth as a baby on that first Christmas night. He would go on to die on a horrible cross, and rise from the grave 3 days later. His death and resurrection healed the breach between God and humanity once and for all so that we can all personally know God. I believe this, and as we celebrate the birth of Christ and remember His sacrifice for us we hope that you too have a blessed Christmas and find joy and peace in the New Year.

  • Lauren T says:

Just want to wish you and yours a very happy Christmas and a wonderful new year!!

Maybe one day, haha. In 2013 I look forward to more giveaways, excellent reviews of baby products, and just following you on facebook. Your fun:) Keep doing what your doing!!

  • chaya says:

so glad the year is almost over can’t wait to start the new one

  • Ashley Hedley says:

I am thankful for my husband, my son and the hundreds of children I work with every day. I am blessed to work in the education field and watch the ‘next generation’ learn and flourish. (I am also thankful for an amazing Baby Guy who always takes the time to share helpful advice and insight into any product when asked!)

  • Emily K says:

There are so many things to be thankful for that there is not enough room to list it all. I hope that everyone on here has a wonderful holiday season and thanks for the opportunity to win such wonderful prizes!! It’s been fun!! :)

  • Diana Cote says:

I am thankful for my family and the every day things, specially when i realize just how bad things can be for some, I remind my self often that life can quickly change and show me a different path. What I would love for my child is for them to be happy, healthy and safe and to be able to live out their dreams and not be held back by insecurities. I hope that unlike me, she confronts things and overcomes whatever tries to hold her back, I hope she has no regrets… i also hope i can live long enough to see her do well and maybe if she chooses to have a children, that i can be there to see them.

  • Carla I. says:

Thankful for my family, my children, for the wonderful life I have. I wish nothing but love, health and happiness for my children today and everyday. What I want from you is more reviews in baby carriers. S many wonderful makers out there of ring slings, woven wraps, structured carriers. It would be great if you could review and learn more about them. You would have a lot more babywearing mama fans out there. Not only willing to help but excited to see you bring it to the mainstream. One thing I want you to know about me, that’s easy, I’m awesome :)

  • Kristina says:

All I want in the world is for my children to grow up with as much love and happiness as I have always been blessed with. Scary that I now feel that I have to add safety to that statement but such is the world we live in today compared to when I was a child. Love and good thoughts to everyone.

  • Leslie Adcock says:

    I can’t wait for Christmas!

  • Jill Raspanti says:

I have enjoyed learning about many new products during these 12 days. So many things I didn’t know about, but now realize how much I NEED them! :) I am looking forward to seeing what you have to share with us in 2013!

I’m really thankful for my family and my kids and the smiles I see on their faces, not when I give them things, but when I spend time with them and give them hugs.

  • Carrie says:

I’m really hoping we make it through this pregnancy uneventfully. Our daughter was born with a condition that required surgery (TEF) and she still has to have procedures every few months to keep her throat open. I’d love to have this new baby in April and not have all the stress that accompanied the birth of our daughter.

  • Anne says:

I am so thankful for my baby girl! Oh and Peanut MM’s!

  • Becky blight says:

Hmmm…I’m thankful the world didn’t end today, that my to lovely boys are around to make me want to pull my hair out on a daily basis, I’m thankful one of them is currently sitting in a laundry basket singing hello songs from preschool! I’m also thankful for social media, it allows all of us to connect, share information and run businesses.

Oh, and I’m thankful for my UPS guy. He rocks, he delivers the diapers…and the wine. And doesn’t ring the doorbell during naps. We should all be so lucky!

  • Melissa Stollman says:

I’m looking forward to my twins coming this March!

I wish for my daughter and future children to live in a world full of peace, love, understanding and true diversity. If only we were all kinder to each other ;)

  • Demi Brand says:

I would like you to know that I am really thankful for your postings. I really don’t mean that in a kiss up way. As a stay at home mom of a 13 month old, I struggle a bit with what my role is beyond caretaker. Learning about products and researching helps me use some skills I developed in my pre-mom life. My husband would probably say I obsess over purchase decisions but it really is one of the things that helps me feel fulfilled as a parent and a person. Thanks for being a part of that.

  • Adrianna says:

Win or Lose, this contest has been fun and completely informative. I’m due in July with my first and so all this baby stuff is completely new to me. I have learned about sooo many wonderful products out there thanks to this contest and your blog. Without you I am not sure I would have known about all the wonderful products that exist! So for that I am truly thankful. Thank You!

  • Leah P says:

I’m thankful for my life, family, and friends. I love your blog. It has been a wealth of information and though I’ve just started to follow you I can tell that you are a kind and generous person. (Your comments during the Sandy Hook nightmare were thoughtful and respectful.)
    Keep it up!

  • Safia B says:

Its a really wonderful thing your doing here and im sure your helping many new parents out with your reviews. I was very happy to see that some of your giveaways were organic and eco friendly products. Im a 100% eco friendly/organic mom which can be very expensive, so it was nice to see your honest company giveaway. Keep up the good work!!!

  • Mary Anne says:

I’m thankful for so much – 2012 has been the most amazing year. My beautiful baby boy was born in April and he is a constant joy for me. I’m amazed at the support I’ve found online for breastfeeding, babywearing, and all things baby that have helped me be the mother I always wanted to be. I just found you in the last month or two, but you have been an excellent resource for me in that short time. As for 2013, I don’t think things could get better for me, so how about world peace?

  • JLin says:

I’m thankful to have a beautiful health daughter, and I wish her a happy birthday(today is her birthday.)In 2013 I want to win your giveaways! And I want to let you know I very want to win this prize! Happy Holiday!!!

  • Rachel says:

  • Monica says:

I’m most thankful for my daughter, who arrived in June of this year. I have always loved kids and I’m so happy to have one of my own. I’ve spent time researching things that I had never dreamed of before being a parent. That’s why it is sooo nice to have someone out there doing the legwork and sharing the results. So, thank you!! I really appreciate you for being a stickler for high quality products that make sense! Sometimes it’s hard to figure out what products are going to be wonderful and which ones will lay around. Again, thank you. You seem like a terrific guy.

  • Jill says:

I want 2013 to be a safe year for all of our children.

  • Deirdre says:

  • Jennifer LuvsCandy says:

So happy I found you! I will be stalking you err. um. following you from now on!

  • Jessica says:

I want my comment to be letting you know how grateful I am. I have a wonderful family, and amazing son and love in my life. Sure, there’s things if like to have that I don’t, including perfect health, but I really can’t complain. If this past week of heartache for those affected by the shooting at sandy hook has done anything, I hope it makes people appreciate what they have and what they have to be grateful for. I hope we all slow down this holiday season and don’t take anything for granted. This is what I want for my son, too. To grow up and be appreciative and thoughtful, and to have compassion for others.

  • kendra S says:

My little one is 7 months old so i have only been following you recently. But thank you for all you do. I look forward to keeping up with new and exciting products that you will be sharing next year!

    happy holidays! :)

  • Amy Manley says:

I just started entering contests about 2 weeks ago. A friend of mine won $700 worth of prizes, and she inspired me to start entering. Even though I haven’t won anything from you yet (but there’s still one more chance, right?!), I have learned so much! I have a toddler and thought I already knew all this. I admit, I’m a Graco stroller pusher…not a big budget. But even though some of what I have learned about isn’t realistic to obtain, now I have some ideas for what I might want in the future…perhaps just saving up for a while for one of these great products! We want to have 4-5 kids, so we have time to do so! Even though the chances are slim that I’ll win today, thanks for teaching us about these products. I’m so glad!

  • Sonia says:

This one is easy. I am thankful for my son, who was born in may. He is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me and is the light in my world.

  • Melissa says:

This year I am thankful for the little life growing inside of me and looking forward to expanding our family in 2013!

  • Brooke Ragan says:

I want to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I have so many wishes for my son that will be born in May (Or April if my Mom is right about all of her daughters giving birth 4 weeks early…which she has been so far-creepy!). One wish for my son would be to just be a good man. Be kind to all, respectful to others, not follow the crowd, be brave, and to be wise. Your reviews are great and are helping this first time Mom to make her wish list of baby products…but maybe one day you could write a blog post about how to help your son be a good man. I know you’re not a father yourself, but maybe you could interview your friends and get advice from them and maybe even experts and share how you turned out so good. Just a thought, because I’m a good person but I’m clueless as to how to teach someone to be a good person.

  • Wei says:

I wish I can win that’s all! LOL wish everyone a happy holiday!

  • Michelle Stephens says:

I am thankful for my healthy children.

  • Natalie says:

  • Stacey R says:

I hope that my children continue to be happy and healthy, and that I am able to raise two boys that are as kind and loving as the High School football star that I read about in the news yesterday that protects a bullied student with special needs! Here is a link to the article if you’re interested!,,20656400,00.html
It definitely warmed my heart, especially after all the sadness surrounding the events in Newtown.

  • Christina Beck says:

First I wanted to say thank you so much for this competition. Any Mama, expecting Mama, Aunt, or whatever would be so lucky and blessed to win this awesome stuff. I hope other people can learn to be as giving in the holiday season as you have been. It inspired me to do 12 days of giving with my nephew. We’ve donated his old toys, made cookies for firemen, and all kinds of other fun stuff. Keep up the awesomeness!

  • Leigh says:

Let’s see. I’m thankful that God has blessed us with 4 amazing kids! (And we’d love to have more if he’s willing!) I’m thankful that we’re all healthy. I’m so thankful that my husband is able and willing to work (dairy farmer!) so that I get to stay home with our kids! We cut down on other areas (no cable, no new cars, etc.) but I’m so grateful he’s supportive in my desire to do this!

As for you! I’m so thankful that you are so committed to your followers! I LOVE that I know if I come to you with a question, that you WILL answer it! AND in a timely matter! I expect and receive honest answers. You run a great business Jamie!

As for what I’d like to see. I’d love to see you attend some Bump Club Twin Cities events! (Ones that I can make of course!!!! LOL. It’s a bit of a drive so I can’t make all of them.)

I’d love for you to take products and go head to head and give us your top recommendations. Perhaps have side by side reviews. Maybe include some of your fans/friends in the review with their takes as well.

And I’d LOVE to see you choose a fan every once in awhile to do a review for you. Kind of as a “guest” on your blog. And have BOTH your review and theirs connected (even if you disagree on aspects of the item.) PS> I’d love to be your first guest….LOL :)

    • Jamie Grayson says:

  • Diana Simpson says:

I am thankful for so much this holiday season. We have a healthy happy 4 year old and our now 8 month old is healthy and happy as well. We had a suprising start to his life back in April. He was a full term baby boy and his little lungs didn’t develop all the way. He had fluid build up and had pnemonia. We had a 17 day in NICU and it was very touch and go for the first week and a half. We know people who’s sweet babies had a stay much longer than ours and I am thankful for those 17 days. Our nugget is now crawling, pulling up and into EVERYTHING. I also hope that those who are on a NICU journey during this holiday season can find peace and hope for their little ones in such a difficult time.

  • Jessica Pero says:

Aaaah…hard to know what to say. I love my kids. My family rocks. I am SOOOOO blessed. Yesterday, my little man turned 1. He’s the youngest of three. He’s amazing, and it’s awesome to have a son after two daughters. Well, yesterday morning, for “peace of mind” I took a pregnancy test. It did NOT give me peace of mind lol!!! Turns out, number four will be joining us sometime late August/early September. So my wish for 2013 is a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. I cherish every single moment with my children, and love them dearly, but I am NOT ready for another one. But I have decided to be grateful. Children are a blessing, and so many mommies have aching arms, they long for a child they lost or for a child they may never have. I. Am. Blessed.

    • Jamie Grayson says:

I wish nothing more than for my sons to grow up in a world where violence is almost non-existent and love, kindness, respect, and courtesy is everywhere. I am raising my boys to be this way…I just hope the rest of the world wants this just as much for the younger generation and the generations to come. :)

  • Lo Eggenbergerl says:

I love that you encourage donations. I already mentioned this on your Facebook page, but I think it is so important to give back when you can and to treat all others with love and respect. Thank you for encouraging goodness in others!

I hope as a parent I teach my children to be grateful for everything, it seems like a lot of children these days just expect things and are not really grateful. On this same note I want you to know I am grateful for you taking the time to put this giveaway together I know it must be a ton of work and time devoted to this, on top of a already crazy busy time of year! Thanks so much Merry Christmas!

  • Sarah says:

My wish in 2013 (EARLY 2013) is a healthy baby… and a husband that doesn’t drive me nutso on paternity leave. And I’m thankful that we didn’t have any funerals to go to this year, just weddings. :)

  • Denise says:

Last day hoping for some luck!

  • Beth Kaspar says:

I am thankful for having a resources such as you and Lindsay from Bump Club this time around! It has made my life incredibly easier. I would love to win a “Spend the Day with Jamie” contest. I don’t need you to give me any gear…I just want you to come to my house and watch me get the kids ready for the day, packed into the car and out to anywhere. And then you can tell me what I am doing wrong and what the hell I need to buy to make it work! And yes…I will fly you to Chicago for that :) . I can’t do first class, but I will get your little butt out here. Then when they go to bed for the night…we can go grab some cocktails!

  • What I wish for 2013 is the SANITY to survive! lol Just had a baby via c-section last month and my 5 and 6 year old are going bonkers with Mom’s “resting/can’t move fast/”. Here’s to getting back to pre baby weight this next year and enjoying my wonderful family!

  • Jillian Scheer says:

  • Gretchen in HB says:

I already asked you to marry me. So, could we hurry up and get on that crap, I need a manny! :-) I hope 2013 bring wonderful reviews of toddler and preschooler stuff, how’s that? Like, say for the 2-5 year old set for the mamas without babies who still need their BabyGuy fix!

  • Rochelle Luaders says:

I gotta say, I have really enjoyed following along with your posts this Christmas. Thanks for doing this. I wish… well I hope that in the next year that something can be done in response to the tragedy at the school in CT. Like I hope the gun regulations will be changed to not allow assault weapons and that the background check system will be strengthened so that NO ONE can get one without a check, and I also hope that those with a mental illness can’t get a gun. I hope that people can use more sense about having guns in their house and accessible to others, I don’t know how we can force that by law but I think it’s probably the biggest thing we can do to avoid shootings. I have just been so upset by this – I have a first grader too – and my husband and I have been talking about it every day, and we have been very proud of our president for how he’s responded so far.

  • Holly Norton says:

My aim for 2013 is to be more confident and to exude that confidence onto my girls. I don’t want them to be trapped in the self consiousness that I have been my whole life. I really want them to feel good about themselves.

  • Rachel Gray says:

Thank you for such a fun and amazing 12 days of giveaways. I’ve been blown away by all of the amazing products that I never knew existed. :)

  • I am new to your site…saw the giveaways mentioned on one of the Facebook pages I follow, Hygeia maybe? I am loving your site. There are so many cool products out there that I didn’t know existed before. I just gave birth Tuesday night to our second daughter and I can’t wait to try some of them out!

  • Leah says:

Hmm I think I prefer your specific questions to this open ended one. Makes me feel as though I have to say something profound and enlightening. I have two boys, a 4 yr old and a 5 month old. I had them pretty young – got married in my 3rd year in college and had my first by 21. Sometimes I feel like a kid raising kids – narrowly missed being a teen mom statistic! My hope for my kids is that I am able to guide them well on their paths, and that my age and lack of certain life experiences doesn’t hold them back. :-)

  • Sarah Ferrell says:

You are amazing! Have a very Merry Christmas :)

  • CHRISSY L. says:

My baby is 2 1/2 months old and I am grateful that I was still able to join into your FABULOUS giveaways. I still have yet to win, but it still was always exciting to see what you were giving and what you said about them.

Additionally, while doing research for our stroller a few months ago, your reviews on youtube really helped us in many ways. You pretty much ROCK!

  • Ilissa says:

Love your site, love you, keep up the great work! I’m thankful for having a wonderful family, & really great friends.

  • One thing about me… I’m a photographer. I wish I could do it full time but I love being a stay at home mom and the kiddies come first. Love your reviews and giveaways. I first heard about the new Peg Perego Convertible from you and I’ll likely be purchasing it soon. Thanks!

  • Keri says:

I just wish for good health & happiness for my children always!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! You are amazing. Not just for these crazy giveaways you are offering us, but also for being the most amazing uncle and a kick ass reviewer! Thanks so much for taking your time to answer comments individually, for making us laugh, for being you, and for being so caring! Merry Christmas!

  • Karina Saucedo says:

I am thankful for every healthy breath that my family and I are able to take, super thankful for getting the chance to be a stay at home mom…even if it’s only for a year…then it’s back to the grind. I’m thankful for having a husband and baby that ground me and that the sight of them everyday makes me thankful for absolutely everything. Right now my mom and family are on their way to Mexico to hand out clothes and food to the absolutely needy. My parents were not perfect but they taught me the importance of giving to others especially those less fortunate than us. It’s been so heart warming to see our “movement” grow over the years. It started out with my mom, dad, and I buying out yardsales and donating the clothes to a family we got to know….now when my family goes there are somewhere between 20-30 people with 6 or more trucks loaded a-la-grinch-sled with donations. Every year we get the same questions…are we with an organized group…. a church…a charity?…and the answer is no, we all just buy used items…donate our own items, gather our friends and family used clothes and food donations and give them out. We go to a border town in Mexico (where my parents are from) drive to the outskirts of town and go to town. The people there have nothing…no electricity, some live on abandoned busses, in cardboard houses…I’ve seen dogs eating other dead dogs there (we also take some sacks of dog food with us.) I’m rambling now, it’s too early in the morning and I’m sleep deprived (my poor baby may have an ear infection.) Anyhow this is how I plan on showing my child the importance of giving, the TRUE meaning of Christmas…next year will be his first year going…and I hope to continue this tradition with him until he is an adult. I feel this is the greatest gift I can give him…because one day when he has an extra hard year..maybe because of work…or just everyday stressors…he will see that the sparkle in the eye that you see in the people you give to….these people that really have nothing, that sparkle is enough to renew your spirit and soul and continue believing in the kind nature of humans. <3

  • Lindsay says:

Happy Holidays! Looking forward to seeing what you have in store for next year… Particularly interested in your review of the Foonf and your thoughts on how it compares to other convertible car seats options that are out there as that is the next big item on our list for our son. Thanks for all your insightful reviews over the year, they have been extremely helpful!

  • Kerry says:

  • Jillian says:

Love your take on baby gear!

  • Libby says:

Oh goodness, I’ll try not to write a novel. Thank you so much for putting on this amazing contest. I haven’t won anything, yet, but I have to admit, it’s been fun to read each blog, and enter every day. Now…what am I thankful for? I have so much to be thankful for! I live in Iowa, and we just for over a foot of snow. We have no power right now, no heat…and I have an 8 month old with a cold. But you know what, I am blessed! I’m blessed because we have beautiful neighbors who have all rallied together to help. I’m blesses with a husband who helped when our daughter woke up last night, and who cuddled with her and me to keep us warm. I’m blessed because every other day this year, we HAVE had power, and warm food to eat…which is more than millions of other people have. I’m thankful this Christmas season because Christ came as a baby, and we get to celebrate this every year.
Right now I’m in our rocking chair, my daughter is asleep on my chest, our fireplace is roaring, and my husband is getting us some breakfast. What more could I want?

  • Esther says:

  • Ryan Lawler says:

I want a safe, happy life and childhood for my son. With all the insanity going on in this world, I want nothing more than for him to be safe and happy. He is the only thing that I am sure of in my life and his well being is paramount. I wish all children could feel love and have a carefree childhood.

  • Sonja says:

I love your pictures of your nieces and of course the reviews of new baby products. :) I hope someday you’ll be able to have a child too. You’ll make a great dad.

    Merry Christmas!

  • Meghan Floirendo says:

I want to thank you for introducing me to a ton of brands and companies that I never knew existed! I’m glad that I have more and better options. I also want to thank you for doing all these giveaways! I know for myself, and I’m sure for many other moms out there, that these are the only chances I have to get a stroller/baby gear that I wouldn’t be able to get otherwise.
    Many, many thanks!

  • Diana Afonso says:

I am thankful for my family and friends. Im thankful that my daughter has a spirited personality, as i believe it will serve her well as she gets older! I love all these groups, supporting parents in their journey, no matter what it is about! Thankyou to you, for being such a big breastfeeding advocate, and helping share the information about it! Thats how I came across your site in the first place! Keep doing what you are doing, you are one of a kind <3

I’m thankful that I’m able to stay at home with my son for a year. It can be frustrating at times (especially since he doesn’t like to nap!), but I love being able to watch him grow and change everyday.

  • Jennifer Wood says:

I’m thankful for my partner’s family. My family will have nothing to do with our relationship or future children but her family (my new family) is loving and welcoming and supportive. It may not be what I thought my family would look like but I’m very thankful, nonetheless.

    • Jamie Grayson says:

  • Sara V. says:

I’m thankful for my family and friends! Also, for having a wonderful job.

  • Lindsey Weisbruch says:

I am so very thankful for my husband. He is in a very demanding internal medicine residency that pulls him away from us. But he goes way out of his way to show our 4 children how much he loves them. Yesterday he took the oldest two to the movies, and our 3 year old to breakfast on his day off. He is so sweet and constantly gives us reminders of how much he loves us even though he can’t alwaysbe home. I am so thankful for him!

  • Jessica says:

I pray everyday that God will give me guidance through this scary world we live in. Especially now that we are expecting our first little girl. Things are very different now, even when my husband and I grew up not that long ago. It breaks my heart that my daughter will never know the more innocent world we did. But I am also hopeful and trusting that the Lord will protect her and guide us through this amazing journey of parenthood. Today I am feeling more blessed than ever!

  • Guatejen says:

For my kids I’d like a new job for my husband… so they can see him more often and we can do more things together as a family. That’s what I’D like for Christmas, anyway. :)

World peace! Want my kids to not have to live in fear.

  • Anna says:

I am thankful for my little men! They truly make my life complete!

  • Emily says:

Thanks for all the product reviews. I don’t know most of what is out there, how one differs from the other, or which ones are safe and are not safe. You always offer great reviews especially for not having kids.

I am thankful for my family. Another year of health and togetherness. Things aren’t easy right now but having my family makes everything a little easier.

  • jennifer M says:

I am thankful for having such an easily accessible resource as yourself to help me out with important things (like inept buybuybaby employees telling me to forward face my 10 month old) and such awesome info and sneak peaks on all the newest and best baby gear. You’ve been such a big help and always so lovely to speak with. Thanks for being you :)

  • briana says:

um….i dont know why i’m admitting this but i saw you at Magic Beans one visit and I was…. I want to say …..”star struck”?…..and felt like I should tell you how fun your postings are and that you have the best giveaways but couldn’t because…..I have this thing. Like I wouldn’t just go up to a random person and say “I really like your work” because they dont know me…it would generally seem like only a crazy person would do that?…same thing happend with colin ferrell at the airport….

  • I am thankful that my husband is home for Christmas. My son will be 20 months old on Christmas and this will be the first Christmas with his daddy home. Last year he was deployed, and also this year (actually this month) we got news he has been selected to be an Officer in the Military and I couldn’t be more proud of him. It’s going to be an amazing Christmas with a great new year to bring in.

  • Sandra U. says:

I hope for a better year in 2013 for all. Today I am thankful that I have a roof over my head, food in our belly and am warm. Most people would consider my household to be low income since I’m a single Mom with the youngest 5 of my 8 kids still living at home. I feel blessed though, that we have the things we do have. Today I am planning on paying it forward. My family is about to go shopping and buy for another family that we know who are in great need and do not have anything for Christmas. I cannot afford a ton of things but hopefully I can get several things for the family so they do not wake up to an empty tree on Christmas Day. I also plan to get a food platter so they will have food. I am thankful that I am able to do this. Also, if I were to win this contest, my plan is to give most away to other people that I know who are in need. PAY IT FORWARD. ♥

  • MrsJoe says:

I’m thankful for YOU – even if I haven’t won anything (so far! although with over 6k entries in today’s contest already, the chances of me winning are still pretty low lol) you have introduced me to a ton of cool new products and great brands. :)

Also – we have SNOW! It should last a few days, but even if it doesn’t make it quite until Christmas, it’s close enough to count in my book! Yay!

What a tremendous giveaway! I will DEFINITELY review anything that you put in a special stocking! And if you want to come to Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA, then you are MORE than welcome to come! We named Emmaline (she is 4.5 months old) her name because it means “peaceful household” and ‘industrious” and we thought those would be two DYNAMITE qualities in a woman. I LOVE olive green (or lime green or any kind of green). I am a redhead. Thank you again for the chance at 12 AMAZING days of giveaways!

  • Laura G says:

I am thankful my second daughter, Savannah, was born healthy in November. I am also glad that I have a credit card to put some Christmas gifts on for my two daughters… and I’m glad my husband has a job to pay that bill every month.

  • Katie says:

I will comment on a personally relevant topic: I wish someone would invent blow-out-less diapers! Every morning, my 10 month old son wakes up with a diaperfull, which usually then has migrated up his back! Find us a diaper that can contain volcano poop! ;)

  • Marnie says:

I am thankful for all of my children this year and for the last 25. It is bittersweet for me as many of my children are foster children that have moved on the their Forever homes. I am excited for them miss them. Of course their departure means I have room for more which is why I adore these contests!

  • Brandi Elam says:

For my kids, I wish for safety and health. My hope for 2013 is that I can wean my youngest (as he’s almost 2), so I can go back on medication for my Parkinson’s disease (there’s something you can know about me-I’m an young onset PD patient).

I don’t know that I can ask for anything different from you because you do everything so well: trustworthy reviews, information on products I might not otherwise hear about, and updates on recalls and other important information (like the baby snatching golden eagles, lol!). Thanks for the giveaway!

I am thankful for this year. We’ve had a tough one but we learned some great lessons along the way and have learned that more than ever, if we’re together, nothing is unconquerable! :) my wish for my children (including my two angel babies) is that no matter where they are, they will take a minute to send some love to each other, and to every living thing in the world. You never know when a little love can change the laws of the universe. From you: I’d like for you to continue your mission to share your knowledge of baby gear with the world, in a fun and not-at-all overwhelming way!! • Michelle L. says:

Thankful my husband and our new baby who was 7 weeks early but healthy!

  • Amy says:

I guess this is kind of a morph between what I wish for my kids and what I wish for myself as a parent. Since the tragedy last Friday, it’s really been on my mind that on one level, I feel like life as a parent will never be the same and that every one of us will be forever changed in how we operate. Those fears that we used to dismiss as irrational can no longer be so easily dismissed. But at the same time, I don’t want to be changed by what happened. I don’t want to lose my joy with my kids, and I don’t want us not to live life as fully as we might have before. I wish I had some great words of wisdom that had come to me during the week, but that would be a lie. I’m still just as conflicted as before. But I think that as parents we need to put in a great deal of thought as to how we go forward from this. We have to figure out what precautions we are going to take to try to make our kids even safer. But we also have to know when to say, “Ok, I’ve done what I can do, and now we’re going to live because this time is all we have.” Who knew that having kids was going to require a philosophy degree???
And thanks for all you do to make this a fun space. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by all the details as a parent, and you help remind us that this should be fun! I mean, if we’re going to have to drop a small fortune for new car seats (you know, expensive things we don’t even get to enjoy for ourselves), we should at least have a good time doing it!

  • Amanda Peck says:

  • Jennifer Thornley-Vieira says:

I am thankful to God for the wonderful promises he has made for the future. When bad things happen such as in CT, promises like the one found at Revelation 21:4-5 really are so comforting: “He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. Write, because these things are faithful and true.”

  • Caity says:

Some days I wish I could steal your passion for all things baby/kids! I’m a first-time mom of an 8-month-old, and it is by far the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I was never around babies much and had no idea what to expect, so your product reviews really help me figure out what I need and what is best. Plus, I REALLY appreciate how responsive you are with your “followers.” Not many people would take the time to respond to thousands of people asking specific questions, and I think it’s pretty darn cool that you take the time to do it. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you & yours!

  • Heather Condo says:

I hope for some financial stability for 2013. I hate that we can’t get our kids everything they want, not that they should be spoiled, but this past 8 months or so we fell in a financial slump and have not been able to do much with them. Every time. We get even a little money saved up, something with one of the cars happens. It’s a vicious cycle and I want out. It would be awesome if I could find a decent way to work from home. This is the first Christmas we could not buy our kids gifts for, lucky I have an awesome friend who gave me toys her daughter opened last yr and never even played with (still in packages). We manage to make our way through, but it would be nice to not have to “get through”. And now that I am tearing up, I will end it there. Lol

  • Lynette says:

Health and happiness for my kids…and maybe a bigger apartment.

  • I am thankful for my awesome family, (my dad, brothers and in-law as well as my husband and girls). I am thankful even though we can’t go home, (to NC, we’re stationed in Texas), that my husband is on leave and able to spend the holidays with us. For my children, I wish them happiness and for their fondest dreams to come true,(they’re only 3 and 5 months, but you get what I mean.)
From you, I only ask that you stay this awesome person that so many of us have conversed with this passed week or so, and that if you start giving away more baby stuff, to let me know. ;) I wish for you to find happiness in whatever ventures you pursue this year and in the years to come.
And one thing that I want you to know about me, is my opinion that I think you will someday make a wonderful father, partner or no, (which I do hope you find someone as awesome as yourself.) :)
If you really want to know something about me, I am an Army wife, with two little girls, that my husband blames on an Infantry curse. :P (When he enlisted, he was told that Infantry guys have only girls, though I’m not complaining.) We want two more kids, so that’s two more chances for a little boy or two, but if we have more girls, that’s fine with us too. :)

  • Nikki says:
