Pimp My Stroller

Since the introduction of a certain dutch stroller to America, strollers have quickly risen from a “shower curtain on a pole” to a status symbol. Some strollers have suspension systems, some have seats that reverse, some DON’T come with rain covers…..

Well, today I thought I’d feature a few new-ish stroller accessories to help you PIMP YOUR STROLLER!!!

I don’t like bright sun in my eyes, and I am certain your little nugget feels the same. Although some strollers do have sun shields available, this next product takes the cake. The Snooze Shade, a British import, is a blackout curtain for your buggy. Give that “it’s-3-in-the-afternoon-and-I-am-still-asleep-because-I-am-staying-at-a-hotel” feeling to your little angel. Blessed with a UPF50+, the Snooze also blocks 98% of UVA and UVB rays. Available in a Universal, Car Seat, or Double Stroller size, Snooze Shade has got you covered. Literally. How did you like THAT bad joke?

Snooze Shade Original retails for $34.99 and is available at Amazon.com

Have you ever sat in a stroller seat? Probably not. I have. They’re not as padded as you think, which is why I am so happy to tell you about the Tivoli Couture NuComfort Memory Foam Stroller Pad. This universal pad fits most strollers on the market and is SOFT. Like, squishy. As in, I have it draped over the back of my desk chair and it feels AWESOME. Your little nugget will feel like a stud (or a LADY) riding on a layer of Visco Elastic Memory Foam. Available in a ton of cool prints, the pad is also reversible! Now, if they only made one in my size….

Tivoli Couture NuComfort Memory Foam Stroller Pad retails for $79 and is available at TivoliCouture.com

You know what sucks when you’re pushing a stroller? Rain. Not for your little guy—for YOU. It’s damn near impossible to push a stroller and hold an umbrella (and FORGET about your drink). Finally, a universal product has been introduced to remedy that situation. My Blue Bumbershoot (British for umbrella—there’s your lesson for the day) has a VERY sturdy clamp that tightens around the handle or handlebar of your stroller to help you out. The umbrella is also height-adjustable, so that even caregivers of different sizes will be comfortable and dry. The Bumbershoot is also clear, so visibility is never as issue. Personally, having a horrible phobia of umbrellas, I think ALL umbrellas should be clear so that people are more aware of who they are hitting in the face with those metal tips. Rain cleared up? The Bumbershoot easily swivels downward out of the way. Love it.

My Blue Bumbershoot retails for $49.99 and is available at MyBlueBumbershoot.com

Obsessed. That’s how I feel about this next product. Toys are not really my bag, but the dolls by Woon are much more than toys. Made of fabrics of many different textures, prints and colors, Lulu and Pax are dolls that attach to your stroller, crib, diaper bag, play pen and anywhere else you can think of. What do they do? They have a built-in speaker that connects to your mp3 player. Yes. It’s a portable music speaker for your little one AND for yourself. They are wicked cute, the music actually sounds great (every other product like this I’ve tried has a VERY tinny sound), and they’re just awesome to look at. I actually have my Pax (the boy) doll sitting on my desk staring at me right now. You’ll be in love with these guys. You’re welcome.

Lulu and Pax retail for $49.99 and are available at Magic Beans.

These are just a few great stroller accessories. Don’t worry, I plan on bringing you many more.

I ALSO PLAN ON ONE OF YOU WINNING ALL 4 OF THESE!!!

Disclaimer: I received product to review. All four of them. My apartment is slowly looking like babies took over Grey Gardens.

They all seem like GREAT products that would make life in a stroller much easier, but my favorite has to be the umbrella! It’s hard enough managing strollers, diaper bags and kids, but throw in some rain and the day just got 10x worse.

    Thanks for another fabulous giveaway!!

  • Aura says:

they’re all great products although I wish you would have left links or pictures for all the products so we can actually see what you’re talking about. You forgot the most essential stroller accessories- a cup holder and bag hook. I’m a major fan of Think King, I’m sure you’ve heard of them. My favorite of the top items? the snooze shade. I wish I would have had the carseat blackout shade when my baby was younger and busy being shlepped everywhere with his older siblings and never getting a decent rest. The bumbershoot looks like a great invention,I wonder why I have never seen it before. Tivoli was not the first to make memory foam stroller liners, Koochy Kooz did like 4 years ago. It was beautiful, cost a lot of money, and molded. That thing was never meant to be washed, which kinda negates the reason for a stroller liner. Have you ever tried washing the Tivoli one? woon pax and lulu are adorable I would use it attached to my son’s crib, although he would probably figure out a way to get to the ipod and destroy it.

    • Jamie Grayson says:

howdy! i didn’t add a cup holder because most of the time they are too stroller-specific. i do know the think king mighty buggy hook–i am actually the one that introduced them to buy buy baby while i was employed there. as for pics and links, there are pics of each product at the bottom of the post, and you can enlarge them and view as a slideshow. the links to the companies are included in the posts as well ;)

    • Heather says:

To respond to Aura’s comment, Tivoli Couture memory foam liners were launched prior to Koochy Kooz’ and this is a re-launch with the highest quality most comfortable Memory Foam available. It attaches to most strollers to keep it from riding down and has other optional add-on’s like a detachable pillow, a blanket strap and others. Yes, they are machine washable and extremely comfortable, not to mention pretty!

  • michelle r says:

I love that Stroller pad! I also want to pimp my new Britax BReady with a stroller lock.. just in case.

  • Irene says:

First time visiting your site and I just have to say I LOVE IT!!! Thank you!

  • KAYLEE says:

These look like just what I need to pimp my stroller out!!!! Don’t know if I or my one year old wants them more she is pointing to the screen and saying that that that!!!

  • Tara C says:

    I think they are awesome!!!

  • Jenny says:

I’d really like a Pax doll for baby boy who is due in November! Also, it would be a great excuse for Mom to step out of the stone age and get an mp3 player!

  • More and more improvements for babies! I once heard that you should put your child in the car seat before buying it and see how they respond. It was amazing to see them sit still for some and squirm like crazy to get out of others. The original creators must have thought that they can’t talk, so they don’t care about comfort. Babies are now getting posh improvements!

  • Katie Van Ryn says:

The Snooze Shade is perfect for my little loves here in oh so sunny AZ. I usually drape a thin blanket, smarty pants just rip it right off. Also, blocking 98% UVA and UVB rays is key for me. Finding inexpensive, safe sunscreen is tough so I am always looking for even more protection alternatives! Bravo Snooze Shade!!!

  • Katie Van Ryn says:

The Tivoli Couture NuComfort Memory Foam Stroller Pad is such a good idea. I have to ask tho….how exactly did you sit in a baby stroller to test out its comforts??? I’m having fantastic images of that! Back to the foam, so happy to see them thinking of out little loves comfort and loving all the different style options. Super cute!

  • Katie Van Ryn says:

What will they think of next. Love the idea of the My Blue Bumbershoot Stroller Umbrella. I am constantly fumbling over the bazillion items needed or wanted when heading out with my love. It doesn’t rain here often, but happy to know I can stroll with ease if it was.

  • Katie Van Ryn says:

I think the Woon Kids Lulu & Pax mp3 Doll is another darling and brilliant idea making me forever wish…”why didn’t I think of that? I keep thinking how perfect this would be for travel too. Especially by air. Also, how fantastic that it’s a darling stuffy that plays music you and your baby like, not the same tune over and over that eventually gets old…fast!

  • Elyse Huey says:

The bumbershoot is just amazing. Because of the name and what it does. Love hte other items too :)

  • Amber says:

    what a great umbrella!

  • I am loving the Snoozeshade and Bumbershoot! I imagine the foam pad would be quite comfortable as well :)
