#12DaysOfBabyGuy: The Sequel. DAY ELEVEN.
If any of you watch “The Soup” on E!, you’ve probably seen clips of the controversial/entertaining/horrifying “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” that is gracing our airways. I am not here to discuss personality traits or family values of the people involved, I am here to discuss NECK CRUST. If you watch the show, you’re probably aware of the infamous episode where all the kids make fun of the mother while they’re extreme coupon-ing at the grocery, and they tell her that rust stain remover would probably get rid of her neck crust. If Honey Boo Boo’s mom can get it, we are ALL at risk. Luckily, I’ve a few brands today that want to make sure that babies get clean, and that it’s a pleasurable experience for us all….
….that does NOT involve rust stain remover.

It is interesting to me how many moms get so nervous about bathing their wee one. I get it: babies are slippery when wet (insert Bon Jovi joke here), and when you have a large plastic tub staring you in the face it’s not a very welcoming environment. A few years ago I found the Puj Tub. I was OBSESSED with it, but initially it was a BIT more expensive. Luckily, the Puj has BLOWN UP and the price lowered, so we are ALL happy now. Made of foam, the Puj Tub has magnets embedded into it, allowing this flat object to snap together to create a sink cradle. Because it’s made of foam it isn’t cold for wee babes like plastic and it cradles them oh-so-nicely in the sink. When you’re finished with bathing, baby comes out and the Puj unsnaps and can hang on a hook to dry. Genius. EXTRA USE: when your baby outgrows the Puj and you transition to the bath, the tub makes a GREAT kneeling mat for your knees. You. Are. Welcome.

Fact: babies also need to bathe while you’re traveling. Crazy, I know, and Puj has come to the rescue again. The Puj Flyte is a tub made of the same material as the original, but it’s in a smaller design that folds, so you can actually travel with your bath tub!! Genius.

Speaking of foam, Katie (the creator of the Puj Tub) told me a couple years ago at ABC Kids Expo that she had this idea to use the extra foam bits from the manufacturing process and turn them into other products. The Puj Snug is made of the remnants of the tubs, and covers your spout with a soft elephant friend so that your kiddo doesn’t bang their head on metal. I am a big fan of Puj Baby and you will be as well. The winner will receive the Puj Tub, the Puj Flyte, and the Puj Snug. This package retails for $95.

While your wee one is bathing, it’s important to use terrific products to clean their skin and moisturize as necessary. I am a BIG fan of MD Moms (one of the only skincare lines for kiddos I recommend), and after spending a few glorious days with Dr JJ, one of the founders, I am a bigger fan. I’ve known Dr JJ (and her business partner and OTHER half of MD Moms, Diane) for a few years now (trade shows, Gearapalooza, emails, tomfoolery), but this year at ABC Kids Expo sealed the deal. After the final day of the show I stayed in Louisville an extra day so that I could actually hang out with her and Daina (marketing—and a dear, dear buddy of mine)—and it made my week. After dinner and sensible cocktails we headed back to the hotel and did facial masks…..and then Dr JJ showed me her pics. You see, Dr JJ recently retired after practicing pediatrics for over 20 years. That night, not only did she show me pics of her retirement party and patients she’d had for YEARS, but I got to see pics of her travels to help underprivileged kids in other countries. It was a glorious night, and made me adore Dr JJ even more than I already did. The ladies behind MD Moms are special women, and this translates directly into their product line. Speaking of product line…….This is a big bundle. In fact, it’s the biggest single giveaway MD Moms has ever done. Here’s what you get:

–Gentle All-Over Clean Hair & Body Wash
–Daily Skin Protection Moisturizing Balm (I use this myself, thank you)
–Gentle All-Over Clean Cleansing Towelettes (these are great for quick clean-up and hippie baths)
–Delicate Skin Comfort Liquid Powder (THIS is especially lovely—imagine a cream that dries and turns into powder on the skin. It’s genius and great for adult use as well in any sweaty areas you might have….hmmmm, maybe for Honey Boo-Boo’s mom?)
–Soothing Bottom Relief Diaper Rash Cream
–Dry Skin Rescue Extreme Care Cream (this is a new product and has received the National Eczema Association’s Seal of Acceptance, as have a few of their other products)
–Daily UV Shield SPF 30 Moisturizing Lotion
This package retails for $119. If you enjoy these products HALF as much as I adore the ladies behind this company, you’re in for a treat

After bathing it’s nice to have a clean diaper, right? Zoli has an amazing changing pad called the Baby Ohm. Think of it as a baby yoga mat! It rolls right up, is made of soft foam (again, it will not be crazy cold like a changing pad), is free of PVC, latex, and chloride, and it cleans VERY easily so you don’t have to worry about cloth covers getting “substances” on them. I love it. For realz. The Zoli Baby Ohm retails for $20 and is available at Magic Beans.

Now that you’re all clean, you need to go show off that glorious clean and hydrated skin. SO, get thee into your Maclaren!! Maclaren, as most of you know, is usually my umbrella stroller of choice. It’s quality, it’s lightweight, and it folds like a champ. They’ve launched a special bundle of products called the Cosy Rider Style Set, including the Triumph and a few accessories. The Triumph is suitable from 6 months-55 lbs, so you can use this stroller for a niiiiice long time. Available on the Maclaren Online Store, this particular Triumph is bundled with the Universal Organizer Bag, the Maclaren Footmuff, and a Luggage Tag!! This has a retail value of $320, but purchased online it’s only $199. It won’t matter to you, though, because you’re winning one!!! HOLLER!!

And your kid had a bath, you probably had one in the process as well, so why not include your stroller?? You’re getting the BuggyLOVE Stroller Cleaning Kit! Made from 100% Natural ingredients, your stroller will look like new (and smell even better) for a long time. The BuggyLOVE Stroller Cleaning Kit retails for $49.99.
So, the total of this package is right under $500. Go for it!! Good luck!!
And if you win something you do not need or want, please consider donating it to a shelter or charity.

For once I am speechless… each product is cooler then the next!! Keeping my fingers crossed.
A car!
I always wanted a pair of pogp sticks.
A basketball hoop!
I always wanted a hamster. Every birthday, Christmas, Guy Fox Day (which we didn’t even celebrate seeing as how we aren’t Canadian!), I would ask for one and never got one. I think my mom even had me added to some hamster watch list, since I couldn’t even buy one at the pet store! Hahahaha
A power wheels!
I always wanted an American Girl doll. Never got one. Finally stopped asking.
I never got an easy bake oven
I always wanted a nintendo or play station. our parents never let us have video games and now that i have kids of my own I am grateful to them!
Always had a lot of Barbies, but never a Ken doll
A younger sibling
always wanted a barbie dollhouse
I dont recall something I really wanted and didnt get. I didnt ask for much when I was a child. I was pretty happy with whatever I received. We werent the richest folks in town.
A new bike. I had a hand-me-down bike but I wanted a new one.
A pony, like everybody else. I eventually did get my NES, but only after the Super NES came out & it was no longer cool.
I remember wanting an American Girl doll. Got the books, never got the doll.
I always wanted my own TV, for my bedroom. I didn’t get one until I was married….
The huge (at least to me at the time) 3′ tall princess barbie doll. My parents thought it was frivolous. Psh.
I really wanted my own go kart!

i wanted a tree house! but that nearly impossible considering we lived in a apartment complex…lol
I always wanted a Nintendo but never got one
I always wanted a Teddy Ruxpin and a cabbage patch doll for Christmas and am still sad I never got either item.
I always wanted one of those barbie doll heads that you can fix their hair and I NEVER got one! I was always so jealous of everyone else who got one, I eventually bought one for my niece a few years ago, so I could live vicariously through her… who am I kidding, I totally played with the thing too.
I hate to admit that I was a pretty spoiled only child. If I didn’t get it, I must not have wanted it that badly since I don’t remember!
I always loved surprises and I never didn’t get something that I really wanted, I was a simple kid and asked for simple things. But I’ll never forget Christmas of 6th grade year my brother found all our presents wherever my mom had hid them and told us what we all were getting. It pretty much ruined it for me.
I never really wanted a pony, but when I was 18, I met my half sister and I found out that she had a pony growing up. A small part of me has wanted one ever since!!
I always wanted an easy bake oven. My mom refused to buy it for me since we baked together all the time and used the real oven, and REAL wholesome ingredients, lol. I asked for birthdays and Christmas for as long as I can remember and never got it. Now that I have kids, and the easy bake oven is still out, I think I’ve become my mom because I can’t see myself letting my kids eat that junk! lol.

I always wanted an Easy Bake Oven. Now I’m kinda glad I didn’t get one, the baked ‘product’ scares me…
I never really “wanted” anything growing up. I was a tomboy with an older brother so he just took me under his wing and we shared everything. Now that we’re older though, all the cool stuff from growing up is technically his so I get the shaft on the old Nintendo & Atari.
I always wanted barbies and or other dolls that weren’t only white. I never got one
I always wanted an American Girl Samantha doll but never received one. It was too expensive at the time and my family couldn’t afford it, which I knew. Still sucked seeing the other girls near us get one. I did get the books though, so that was probably the better end of that deal!
I always wanted American girl accessories… My mom would always smile and say you’re lucky you even got the doll at that price
I wanted a cabbage patch doll for years… the year I thought I was finally going to score one, I was so bummed to find the appropriately-sized box was a (really nice) pair of boots I couldn’t bring myself to like or wear them ever…
I’ll have to say the one gift I ALWAYS wanted and never got was a baby brother or sister. (I was the baby and HATED it!) But lucky me I’m getting two of my own babies come June
Love!
Real Barbies…not the fake ones. Sigh. Stupid hair always fell out.

Punky Brewster hi-tops.
I was a weird kid, and really only ever wanted books. My parents were really great and always got me books… My most painful gift-related memory though, was when I got a bike. In January, for my birthday, in upstate NY. Yeah, I had to stare at that thing for 5 months before I could use it…
As far as something that I didn’t get that I wanted. There were probably Babysitters’ Club books that didn’t make their way to me, but I had about 200 of them anyway…
I always wanted an American Girl Doll as a kid.

I wanted the barbie house/apartment for so many years! A couple of my friends had it, we wanted to put all ours together & play neighborhood. Oh to be a kid again!!

When I got a little older, maybe 11 or 12, I got to play with my friends Barbies and finally realized that I wasn’t missing out!
A Cool bicycle
I always wanted an American Girl doll but never received one.
Now that I have a daughter (after 3 boys) I’m so excited to buy her one eventually!
I always wanted an American doll and never got one! I guess that’s why I feel the need to dress my baby girl up like one. Many people have asked me if I’m carrying a doll, nope just my baby Lily!

Mostly because it was a stutus symbol among my friends and I always had hand me downs, but I got art kits, and crayons and once a 35 mm camera, 16 rolls of film and a gift certificate to get them printed (there were many pictures of strange and random things) and now? I’m a photographer (and a mom!) I am glad now my perents bought that camera for me when I was 12 over a doll I would have played with for half and hour and then been bored with.

The one gift I always wanted but never received was a guitar. I always wanted to learn and asked every year for a guitar but never got one.
I wanted a Cabbage Patch kid! Mostly because my sister told me I wanted it. And my dad went to hell and back to find us these dolls. Little did he know, the one he found me, the last one on the shelf, probably the last one in all of New York State, was a boy. Crushed. A BOY?!?! Yeah, I was an ungrateful little brat, what can I say?
Hmmm, for years I wanted a Chinchilla or a ferret as a pet, never got one though, in hindsight probably a good thing.

She loves it. I don’t know if it technically counts since I bought it for her, and never got one for myself, but eh, it’s the first thing that came to mind.
I remember really wanting a puffy Starter jacket in middle school. I wasn’t even into sports and I didn’t care which team, but all the cool kids had them. I’ve become more of a rebel since then.

A pony!! Lol typical little girl gift
Well, not sure if it’d be considered a gift necessarily, but I always wanted my family to care about me. I always felt ostracized during the holidays, being left out, overlooked, etc. All the other kids in the family got awesome things that they wanted for birthdays and Christmas and got to be included in conversations, meanwhile I got soap, socks, shampoo… Along with being ignored when I tried to talk. I’ve spent holidays with other families who wound up being better family to me than the one I grew up in and it always made me think “Why couldn’t I have grown up with a family like this?” Now that I’m starting my own family, I’m going to make sure that it’s filled with love.
Good Lord, you are a funny man : ). Love reading your introductions.
As for my dream toy that I never received… It was the Power Wheel. Isn’t that like every kids dream toy of choice though? I would have gladly accepted one, even at the age of 12. I ALWAYS wanted a doll with a pacifier. ALWAYS! That would be my only request. My cousin had one and I loved it! Sadly, all I ever received were dolls with closed mouths and no pacifiers….
Up until I had my son, I dreaded Xmas!! It reminded me of my dad. He passed away when I was five. It was one of those woe is me things. Now I love it. I love everything that brings my babes joy. I still think it is crazy to spend so much money when simple things make the world go around. My dad I guess would be the answer.
Unfortunately, I was a spoiled child and got everything I wanted for Christmas/birthdays. I had the greatest mom in the world. And she will be truly missed this holiday season.
A Barbie power wheel
Growing up, I was surrounded by dogs of different breeds but I always wanted a Siberian Husky but I never received one.
. I’m still wishing for one now.

When I was about, lets go with 5yrs old for arguments sake, since I can’t really remember. Anyways my grandma would let my sisters and I open 1 present a day early, only one! So needless to say I went with the biggest one of course! Voila! Plastic vanity set super cool for a little five year old right? WRONG! My sisters got those brick old school gameboys and zelda!! Of course I am thinking I also got a gameboy and zelda, but just didn’t open it yet. Can you imagine my disappointment when I realized I didn’t get one.
Not to sound selfish, but even five year olds know you can’t not get everyone the same cool toy! Needless to say if you knew my love for Zelda you would understand just how painful a memory this was for me!! -crushed I was-

I cannot think of one in particular… I’m sure there were some clothes I was dying to have that I didn’t get, but never anything major. Extremely lucky for that I guess.
I really wanted a horse.. but i never got one… i figured out how it could live in the back yard and sleep in the garage and i would not have to give it water because it could drink out of the pool. I even drew pictures of our house for my parents with the horse set up and pictures of the horse sleeping in a bed in the garage and drinking from the pool

I always wanted a telescope growing up, but never got one. :/
A 1988 Happy Holidays Barbie.
I wanted a swing set so bad. My parents actually got me one, but my father never built it. Instead he used the one long piece to hold our garage door closed. I may be slightly bitter about this haha.
I wanted one of those dolls that was like a real baby that would wet, and you could feed it. I asked for one many times. Now I have the real thing and it is my favorite gift ever.
I always wanted a puppy growing up.
Power wheels.
When I was little The Tamagotchi was popular and I wanted one for Christmas & my birthday and my parents refused!! haha They did the same thing with the Furby that I wanted too!! Now that I’m a parent, I TOTALLY understand why LOL

An American Girl Doll
When I was a kid, I just wanted clothes from the Gap or the *cool* stores but my mom could never afford it!
I’ve always wanted an ice skating Barbie when I was little but never got it.
A puppy! My sister and I tried everything to convince our parents to buy us one but nothing worked
We even tried putting subliminal messages on a tape a la Saved by the Bell.
I think I commented last night, but it says I didn’t. So here we go!
I didn’t get a computer as a child, I wanted a laptop forever and never got one. Boo.
I always wanted a pony
An American Girl doll…now my mom wants to take my daughter to get one in a couple of years! Oh, well.
My friends all had these baby dolls that looked so real and even the boy babies had “boy parts.” The dolls looked so real and I wanted one soooo badly. I never did receive such a doll
Now that I have children, and even though they are boys, I’ve searched and searched for these babies and I bought 2 of them. Now they have a hefty price tag for a 20 yr old doll.
Always wanted a power wheels.
I always wanted a Big Wheels. Those things were so awesome, I never got one
Mom was pretty good about honoring requests, and I usually didn’t want anything too extravagant, so I can’t think of any great holiday disappointment. Piano lessons, maybe? Claims she didn’t really know that I wanted them.
A dang engagement ring-I got it 6 mos later!
Hmmm…there were a lot of dolls when I was a kid that I didn’t get…a cell phone. I don’t know, that was a long time ago!
Hmmmmm, I am sure that there was something but I just can’t remember what I wanted and never got. I guess that’s a good thing!
We weren’t rich but somehow my family always managed to get me what I wanted
i wanted a cabbage patch doll when they first came out both myself and my sister who was 3yrs younger she got the original one that i wanted and i got a handemade version i wasnt so happy i later learned my mother waited for hours on line only to get one so she went and paid almost double for the homemade version and i still just wanted my cabbage patch!
I’d always wanted the yearly Chirstmas Barbies. Sad, I know.
I can’t really think of anything off the top of my head. I was a good 6-8 years younger than my cousins and the only girl on one side so my family were really great with gifts. I do remember getting my fair share of socks, underwear, and undershirts though. I also had one uncle who always got me toys meant for a much younger child.
I want a puj tub! I have heard great things about them.
I never got a pony!
Nothing comes to mind. I was never disappointed in Christmas. Except when I was teen and my boyfriend at the time got me some tacky shirt that said “I know what boys like” which I opened in front of my family. Seriously tacky.
I cannot relate to this one…I was so spoilt as a child I even got a life size dollhouse with a fridge and stove for christmas one year…
American Girl Doll
A Barbie Jeep!
I always wanted the Hungry Hungry Hippos game when I was little but never got it. My kids don’t have the game either.
I always wanted an ez bake oven. Still sad about that one. Lite bright too, but now as a parent that has stepped on plenty of sharp toys, I get it.
I took riding lessons for years and always asked for a horse for Christmas and birthdays. I received horse-themed gifts for years, but never got my real pony
A pony!
I always wished for those ride on cars but coming from a big family, never got one!
sounds silly but I always wanted bunk beds, I shared a room with my younger sister and we slept in the same full sized bed until I was almost 14. She had a toddler bed (she’s 7 years younger than me) for some of the time but never slept in it. But I always wanted bunk beds so that we could have our own bed lol
A sibling! Oh the woes of an only child. To this day my mom tells people how often(and obnoxiously) I begged for a brother or sister. Especially at Christmas
I remember a year where all I wanted was a bean bag chair and a Hulu hoop. It was pretty simple, but for some reason that was all that I wanted. I was probably about 7 years old. I told my mom, etc. On Christmas I didn’t get either. So what happened, was my birthday is in August. I waited till then and got them with birthday money.
My birthday is close to Christmas so I never really had a birthday party. My birthday present was usually wrapped in Christmas paper. I think the thing I wanted the most was my own special day.
I can’t think of anything in particular that I wanted and didn’t get so I’ll share a Christmas story– I got a Reebok hoody for Christmas one year and couldn’t wait to wear it to school and be SO.COOL. I washed it over Christmas break with my new cherry lip smackers in the pocket and RUINED it before I could even wear it to school. *sob* My tween self was devastated.
i always wanted to have a barbie house when i was a kid and never got it. now my daughter is asking one and for some reason i don’t want to buy:)))
I always wanted an easy bake oven but sadly I never got one.
I was spoiled! Always got what I wanted!:)
I always wanted a dog. I asked for a dog at Christmas and my birthday each year. I finally got one and my parents decided after 2 days that it was a bad decision. I cried for days! But a few years later, when my brother wasn’t a baby, we got an awesome dog named Sophie.
I never got the Bitty Baby twins.
I always wanted a quad or go kart .. never received
My mom is a worry wart so I figured it wouldn’t happen anyways lol!

Oooooh, my goodness. I ALWAYS wanted one of those awesome fold-up Razor scooters! I begged, begged, and begged some more one particular Christmas–made a huge point out of letting everyone know that that was ALL I wanted.
Christmas morning? Nothing. Nothing scooter-ish, anyway.
My seven-year-old brother got one, though. Looked at it once, tossed it aside, never used it.
Life is unfair! Hehe.
I can’t think of some item I always wanted and never received. I don’t know if that is because we were lucky to afford things or if not getting some toy or item didn’t leave a lasting impression. Fortunately, there are plenty of other painful childhood memories!
I ALWAYS wanted a pony and never got one!
I wanted a Samantha American Girl Doll and never got one. I have made sure that my girls got AG dolls though although it’s sad Samantha is no longer available……
A car? I finally got one, but it was never as a gift.
I was/am never one to want anything. I am content seeing other people happy. My husband and I are actually having this conversation right now.
a 3-inch dog
I always wanted a Chia Pet!!
I’ve seriously made reference to this a 100 times this month alone. I never got a Barbie car, the old pink ride on. I still talk about it
I still remember waiting for this big fancy Barbie I saw at the store and my that my parents “promised” I could have for my birthday (so they wouldn’t have to buy it then and there). Come my birthday and, sadly, no beautiful Barbie waiting for me – they had long forgotten about our little deal. Never did get it. Funny how you always remember our childhood disappointments. Yep, still hurts! Lol. Thanks for rubbing salt in the wound!
I always wanted a lite brite- but my mom said they were a mess and had too many little pieces. they were SO cool though.
A pony!
I wanted a desk but never got it.
I always wanted an Easy Bake Oven. My mom didn’t let us eat a lot of sweets, so there was no way I was getting one of these. I have to admit that I almost bought one for myself a few years back when they resurfaced. I have two sons who probably wouldn’t have appreciated it, but I think I would have!
I’m not really sure actually, my parents were amazing and always got us one big gift for Christmas! So I don’t think I have any painful memories of not getting something, we were very blessed!
I wanted a PONY ?! never got it but glad i never did lol what was i thinking!?
I always wanted a Barbie Dream House. My barbies lived in my desk.
always wanted a real Transformer!!!
I always wanted a pair of really cute boots. haha
It must not have been that important b/c while I know I didn’t get everything I wanted, I cannot for the life of me remember one single thing. Or else my parents set expectations well and I never asked for me than was reasonable. That’s a non-answer…..hopefully it counts!
Every year I asked for a computer and every year cried bc I didnt get one. Oh if I only knew then. My parents must have been heartbroken. All those gifts they spent precious $$ on and how ungrateful (albeit in a very innocent way) I was. Breaks my heart as a now parent to even think about the way I acted. Sorry Mom and Dad…you always provided the most wonderful Christmas experience. I wish I could turn back the clock and change my behavior,
I always wanted a Victorian style wooden doll house with all the trimmings, i was promised we would craft one, but with all the diy in the house (they remodeled it them selves) we never were able to. I also wanted the calico (i think that’s what they are called ) house with the little mice and never got that either, i wanted a collection of polly pockets , never got them.
I always wanted my OWN set of pipeworks (these crazy pvc pipe that snapped together to make forts and whatnot). My parents got one set for my siblings and I to share so, of course, my big sister was always master of the fort. Alas, we always had to share. Darn them.
socks and underwear
I always wanted a nite brite (my older cousin had one)
cute and handy items!
I always wanted a big wheel and still kind of do. My cousins looked awesome riding around and they’d never share
As a grown up, if I want a gift and do not get it, I try to snap it up on sale after the holidays. One gift wish I never received was a family vacation to Alaska. Wonder if I can make that happen for a multi-generational family? Fingers crossed!
I don’t remember ever wanting something and being upset I didn’t get it. I’m sure there was but I just don’t remember lol
An E-Z bake oven. I never got one even though I explicitly circled it in the Sears catalog every. year. *sigh*
My parents both had a child from a previous marriage and there was a huuuuge age gap between me and them. I was pretty spoiled so I really can’t remember not getting what I wanted for gifts. It helped that my big sis worked at Kaybee Toys and got the best deals ever!!
A battery operated car
I always wanted a Barbie dream house, but instead I got the less expensive Barbie motor home. I ended up loving that and it’s still in my parents basement waiting for a grand daughter!
I always wanted an Alf doll for my birthday as a child but, I never got one. Instead I got a Gonzo doll that my sister ended up messing up
I always wanted a little sister and I never got one. I had to settle with just a big brother, but he’s ok.
There were actually 3 items I wanted throughout my childhood, but never received. An easy bake oven (apparently my older sister got one and didn’t love it and my parents thought it was stupid), light up shoes (I still want some. They need to make adult sizes!), and a cabbage patch doll (my mom refused because she thought they were ugly)
Easy bake oven. Sigh. I have a daughter now and you can be damn sure she is getting one so I can play with it!!
I desperately wanted a Sony Sportsman (I think that’s what it was called) Walkman. Santa brought me a different kind of Walkman. I was devestated. And also, apparently, a brand-conscious brat at the age of 11.
I wanted a puppy, but we weren’t allowed to have one in our townhouse. So sad.
Transformers!! My parents even bought them for my cousins, but I never had any. There was even a boy in my kindergarten class who I befriended JUST so I could play with his extensive transformer collection.
a pony!!
Every little girl wants a horse… lol Most rarely get them.
I’m sure there were several Barbie dolls I would have loved to have
When I was 12, my dad told me I could choose between a horse or $150 dollars. Well I chose the horse and he never got it for me. So he gave me the $150 instead, of which he put in the bank account and spent, so I didnt get anything.
thats the only bad birthday I remember.

I always wanted an easy bake oven. So glad they are now going to make them in colors other than pink and purple!!
The gift I always wanted, begged and pleaded for but never received was a Power Wheels Jeep! My neighbor had one and there were countless commercials for them on T.V. I wanted one so badly! Unfortunately, Santa said it was to big for his bag and it wouldn’t fit under the Christmas tree! Needless to say I was not a happy camper that Christmas. However, Since I have horrible vision and now wear contacts I’m starting to believe it was probably for the better
I think the gift I never received was another baby sister lol!! I remember requesting that after my cousin had her baby sister and she was sooo adorable I just wanted one for myself lol! It was painful then but of course, I now realize it would have been much more painful for my parents then if they had granted me my wish haha!!

Well, I am a huge book nerd, and I had always gotten at least a few books every year at Christmas. By the time I was a teenager, i had read so much, people found it hard to find things I hadn’t already read. I remember the first Christmas I didn’t get a book for a present — it really bummed me out! All these years later, it’s really stuck with me… that’s why I always get my kid and nieces/nephews books for presents!

I guess now that I’m older, I’d love to be given a trip to Italy, or France, or Australia…lots of places really. I don’t see that happening though!
I always wanted one of those real life size Barbie heads that you could style her hair. Now I see how creepy that is. Probably why my parents never bought it for me.

So excited about so many of these products! I’ve been wanting to try out quite a few. Ever since I had my baby six months ago, I rely heavily on blogs and customer reviews when choosing products. Thankful for bloggers who take the time to test and report!
I actually can’t think of a single thing! Not that I was spoiled and got whatever I asked for, but I just don’t remember asking for much. I was most happiest to receive a pair or roller blades from my grandma when I was 10.
p.s. Prompt box did not open when I originally commented above. Not sure I can remember something I really wanted that I didn’t get.
I always wanted video game consoles but never got one. Now I have all of them.
I can’t really remember an item I really wanted and never received as a child. That sounds like I was spoiled, but I wasn’t. I just don’t remember “wanting” anything so badly that I remember 20+ years later. I always wanted an American Girl so when I was 10 I worked all summer to save up enough money to buy one. But I was never given one as a gift… HAHA!
Guess jeans…
I ALWAYS wanted to go to Disneyland as a little girl and never went! Maybe now that I have my own kids I can finally go!
My own cell phone, granted back then rarely anyone had cell phones.
computor! that was b4 todays tech age!lol!
i always wanted an easy bake oven!
As a kid I always wanted new clothes but because my sister was 4 years older than me I received hand me downs for my entire wardrobe until she left for college. I can remember a couple of birthdays being a tad disappointed because I didn’t get any new clothes.
An Easy Bake oven! NEVER had one. I got a bug maker thing that you bake though…not quite the same.
I honestly can’t recall anything that I truly wanted that badly and did not receive. My parents always tried their hardest to give us kids what we needed, and a little bit of what we wanted. I hope I can do the same for my family!

Thanks!
Ross Olson
the black stallion. like the actual horse.
I wanted a Gameboy. It was those big grey clunker ones and I wanted one for like forever!
I always wanted an Easy Bake Oven. I blame my lack of skills in the kitchen on the fact that I never received one!
Barbie’s playhouse!
Maybe I was lucky, spoiled or just don’t remember. But, I think I got the things I wanted.
i used to LOVE those giant stuffed animals. there was a truck on the west side highway and we’d stop and get one on the way to grandma’s house.
i guess one year mom decided they were taking over the house and with no warning she stopped buying them. and i really really wanted that 5 foot panda!
I wanted a rock polisher when I was little.
Hmm. I can’t recall anything super-specific, but I always remember wondering how/why my best friend always seemed to get EVERYTHING she asked for, even though her dad had recently lost his job. Even as an 8-year-old I knew something was weird about that. Hooray for credit cards and piles of debt. (But not for my parents!)
I had a handmade doll that I always asked my mom to put hair on. She never did it for some odd reason (maybe it’s because I pulled the yarn hair out that she originally put on it because I wanted it to have blond hair like me) Anyway… I asked her every single year and one year I drew hair in with a pen. It looked terrible. I still have this doll and it’s still bald.
Very interesting article. Since my baby suffer from eczema he will benefict from the use of this products.
My two front teeth… just kidding, those finally came in. When I was a young boy and living on welfare, my requests were few as I knew the futility of desiring that which was unattainable. Looking back, it taught me some bad habits, as I still don’t ask for gifts. I still prefer a good card as it shows thought.
I would always want my parents to sign me up for little league and they NEVER would, year after year. I asked for birthdays, Christmas, you name it.
Barbies! 3rd child syndrome!
I always wanted a swimming pool! But my parents told me it was either the boat or a pool…. I guess I would just have to swim at the lake and at swim practice!
My baby would be over the moon to win this special prize
Sending all wishes for a very happy holiday!
Sea monkeys and underwater grow crystals! I think I’ll have to buy myself some. Oh and a venus fly trap.
Trying to win these amazing products for my baby and my friends!
I always wanted a cow when I was a kid. I LOVED MILK. hhaaa. My parents never got one for me though, shucks.
Growing up I know there were things I wanted and didn’t get, especially since we didn’t have a lot of money (or barely any at all some years). But it goes to show just how important any of those things really were because I can’t remember a single one. I always had my family and that’s all that really mattered.
I always wanted an easy bake oven but never got one.
Hockey skates…instead I got shiny, perfect white figure skates. My inner tomboy was crushed!
I’d love to win! Maybe it’s my lucky day.
I always wanted a new bicycle but got my cousin’s hand-me-downs instead
I never received a play kitchen. I wanted one FOREVER!!
rollerblades.. never got them and ended up buying them for myself in jr high.
I always wanted a nintendo…
What I wanted but never got…something to straighten my kinky red hair. This was before the classic straighteners we have now. I tried everything..I was six feet tall, with braces and red kinky huge hair! Good lord…I needed help!!
Also the pic of you with the face mask on is terrifying:) ha!
And I am super excited about this giveaway….please pick me:)
I always wanted a Cabbage Patch doll. My mom thought they were creepy so I never got one. Then someone gave me a fake Cabbage Patch as a gift. She was an ugly doll and I remember being bummed that she didn’t come with adoption papers. I never complained about it, but I really didn’t care for this imposter. She must have creeped out my mom enough, because that doll dissappeared one day and neither me or my mom missed her.
Barbie dream house. Who’s with me???
I always wanted a play kitchen when I was little, you know the wooden kind that has knobs that turn and an oven that opens and makes cool kitchen noises. I think I asked for one for at least 4 Christmas’s in a row.
Trip to Hawaii!! And I don’t see it happening with kiddos now. Ah well – they are better than Hawaii
An easy bake oven! I wanted one so badly!
I always wanted a telescope and never got one.
Barbie Dream House!
I honestly cannot remember anything that I really wanted that didn’t show up,although I’m sure there were things. I just remember getting my wedding day Barbie and Ken that I always wanted, and an extended cousin took Barbie home that very same day. I was traumatized and Ken ended up with a ballerina.
a pony/horse
I’m sure there is something, but I just had my second baby on Tuesday night, and my brain is not functioning properly. Sorry! This is my entry comment.
I was obsessed with a black dress with colored bows all over it when I was 8. We were bad kids and always sneaked a peek at what mom and dad were getting us (which probably should have made us catch on to the whole Santa thing a little earlier). That year I was convinced I had seen it and I knew I was getting it. I was destroyed when it didn’t happen. I think my mom was truly shocked at how upset I was not to get that gift. My parents didn’t have a lot of money, so I know now that it would have been silly for her to spend money on something I would hardly ever wear, but boy, I can still remember the disappointment.
I always wanted a pullover Green Bay packer Jacket and never got it.
When I was younger I wanted a new oscar the grouch, just like the one I had which my dog ripped apart. Instead I received a Grover as the oscar was not replaceble.

When I was four, I wanted a REAL dollhouse – wood with beautiful figures and delicate furniture… And all I got was a plastic dollhouse that was NOT delicate at all. Talk about a grumpy year!
GREAT PRODUCTS&GIVEAWAY!!!!!

hmmmm… I’ve never been one into gifts so, I can’t remember one thing that I really, really wanted and never got. Did I mention I also have a terrible memory? So, if there was something long ago, I don’t remember it anymore and therefore, probably didn’t need it. Ha!

A furby! and now they are back, maybe I’ll get lucky this year!
I always wanted a trampoline (one of those giant ones). I never got it. Looking back, I’m glad my parents never caved because I loved doing flips and dangerous jumps, plus my older brother could get pretty ornery and probably would have made a mean move causing injury. So I’m lucky, but I still REALLY wanted one for years!!
A rabbit, a real one.

is is hard to put into words, so ‘ll say “special” for any holidays. My birthdays were never celebrated after my mom remaarried (i was 10) and had another child. All focus was on them. I got cheap crap gifts for the most part at christmas while my little sister got great gifts. 2 weeks later, my birthdy was ignored. yeah, that’s the worst
Playmobil doll house!!!! If I ever have a girl shes getting it Stat
Two years ago I decided to stay in California with my boyfriend’s (at the time) family because all I really wanted that year was to FINALLY be accepted by his family. Well, they all exchanged gifts and totally left me out even though I ALWAYS got something for his mom as well as the little kids. I was so bored and wanted nothing more at that point but to go home!

A dirt bike and a go-cart. I have a whole list!
It would have to be a fancy princess shoes, that my girl-cousin got of course;) We laugh about it now, they were made out of plastic!!!
There’s always something, not necessarily even that big. Hints are always dropped, & I wouldn’t think they were too subtle, but they never seem to work! There hasn’t been anything that’s been a lifelong or carryover type of thing, though.
I wanted a REAL Cabbage Patch doll! A friend of mine had a whole bunch of them. I got a knockoff when my baby sister was born…because I didn’t get the brother I had been hoping for either!

Not really a gift but I was dying to go to Disney World as a kid! I wanted to experience the magic and everything Disney had to offer. My parents always bought us a Disney VHS tape for EVERY holiday, Valentines day, Easter, Halloween, Christmas, you name the holiday we got a VHS. I have a huge Disney VHS collection from my childhood that I watch with my kids on an ancient VHS player, lol. But I never got that dream of a Disney vacation. I finally did get to go when I was a cheerleader in Highschool for a competition. But it just wasn’t the same as seeing the place as a kid. I vow to figure out a way to take my 4 kids there while they are still little. I might have to sell my right kidney, but I am taking them!
an easy bake oven!!
I can’t really think of anything that I always wanted and never received. I learned pretty early on not to ask for too much. So, as long as it wasn’t expensive, it was pretty much a given that I would get it. I usually only asked for 1 or 2 gifts anyways. I’ve tried to instill the same thing in my boys. They can make a list of whatever they want, but when they go to see Santa, they ask him for the one present that they want the most. This way I can always ensure that they get what they are asking for. I haven’t had any disappointment with them yet. Let’s hope that the next 13 years follow the same pattern!
A juicy couture stroller
My family was pretty generous, and there weren’t a lot of things that I wanted that I didn’t get. I guess the biggest thing was a baby sister, especially after two brothers.
But gift-wise, while I am sure that there was plenty that I was disappointed that I didn’t get, nothing I remember about now.
I never got all of The Little’s dolls and accessories that I wanted. I got a few of the dolls and some of the furniture for the doll house, but never got the doll house or the rest of the set. It was the same with Strawberry Shortcake too come to think of it…
I don’t even know. I dont remember ever wanting anything I didnt get, but my memory is failing me. I will tell you the most ridiculous gift I ever received that I was both strangely upset about while being extremely gracious and thankful for at the same time. A car. My first car my dad bought me was a 1987 Fiero, my favorite car. Let me put this in perspective, though. I was 14, and at that time I didnt even want to get my temps or driver at all until I was 18. I never did have a chance to drive it before I sold it when I was 17. Guess that makes me a bad daughter, my dad is still bitter I ever sold that car.
I always wanted the Barbie Hot Dog Stand. This came out when my parents were struggling just to feed us so I never complained about not getting it or anything really but now as an adult I still really want to buy it. Sad I know.
A Dog
Hmm…I guess I always secretly wanted brand name clothes. We usually wore hand-me-downs.
I can’t remember anything that I wanted and never got, but I never had much on my list. I’m sure there was something when I was little though
I have wanted a remote car starter for years and consistently do not get one! Major bummer.
I guess it just shows the things you think are so important when you’re a kid really arent because I cant remember a single gift that I thought, at the time, Id die without, that I didnt get. Maybe to meet NKOTB
I always wanted a sibling. I asked for one for Christmas and Birthday until I was about 14 when my mom had a hysterectomy
I was just talking about this with my seven year old yesterday! She saw a Chia pet and asked what it was and I got all wistful on her and told her I had always wanted one for Christmas but my dad never got me one…lol.
A CHIA PET! I was a neeeeerd.

I always wanted a bunny… But it never happened!!
The only toy I could think that I wanted and never got was a kids {Barbie!} electric car. Thinking back I don’t know if I even asked for one, but I do know I wanted one! Ohhhh…I also wanted a Barbie Dream House. I am not going to lie, I still want all these things!
I ALWAYS wanted a Baby Alive doll. I guess you know you’re destined to motherhood when all you want as a child is a high maintenance doll. Now I’m swimming in dirty diapers, spit up and screaming babies for real. Heaven I tell ya, heaven.

A dollhouse
Being that I was an October baby (in New York), I always wanted a outdoor or backyard birthday party–like all my spring and summer friends–but by the time the middle of the month rolled by it was always too cold again. But my father made it to my birthday, before he passed away from cancer when I was 7–so I will never be ungrateful again
I always wanted gymnastics lessons. It was on my list every year. My sisters both got to enroll in dance, and I just wanted a tumbling class, not writer’s workshop or swimming lessons, just tumbling. I hope to be able to allow my kids the opportunity to explore the activities they want.
I wanted a bike one year and my parents got me one but it was HUGE. Like, it was made for a teenager and I was just a little kid. I couldn’t ride it for years

xbox
I always wanted Santa to bring me a miniature pony (the kind that are like 2ft tall). When I was a kid, I found a magazine article about them and how they were being trained as seeing-eye-ponies, then live in the house and can be litter-box trained…I thought they’d make the perfect house pet! Can’t imagine why my parents never got me one. LOL
I really can’t think of anything I wanted but never received
I always wanted a cabbage patch doll. We didn’t have much money, so my mom did her best and got me a knock off doll. I was doll crazy so it got played with, but I feel bad that I might have hurt her feelings since it wasn’t the real thing. But it did teach me not to let what my kids say hurt my feelings.
A stand mixer
I always wanted a dog. I did not get one until I graduated college and bought it myself. Thanks for the chance to win!
an easy bake oven! And now that they’re coming out with a “boy” version, you bet my son is going to get one so I can play with it!
LOVE the Puj tub!!!! Genious!
That will be difficult. I was the only girl in my family, all the rest are boys. I am the only girl in my fathers family wich mean that I definitly got EVERYTHING I ever wanted. BUT, one thing I wanted and asked for every b-day, every holiday, over and over again, was soccer ball. My mom always told me that I am a girl and have to behave like one, and that would be the reason why she is not going to buy it for me, although I was the best soccer player at my neighborhood. I have never got one, I always used my brother’s soccer ball
I always wanted a mustang. i almost had my dad talked into too!!

I always wanted a play house to play in. Being the youngest of 8 kids, my Mom could never afford one.
I always wanted a little dog called the Walking GoGo. The story is that when I was 4 or 5 I threw a fit in the store and my parents bought the toy to make me shut up, then proceeded to return it the next day when I wasn’t with them!

I do remember hearing a lot of “this is for you to share with your sister” so I think my answer is anything that was ONLY for me!
I honestly can’t remember ever being disappointed by not getting something I wanted. Either my loved ones are so generous that I never wanted for anything, or those things weren’t important enough to stick to my memory. Here’s to a warm and happy holiday!
I always hoped that my brothers and I would be surprised with a trip to Disney World. So I look forward to when my girls are old enough to go, and I will probably enjoy it just as much as they do!

I always wanted the Barbie dream house as a kid but didn’t get it !
I always wanted a “play” cash register as a kid….now that I have a child, he WILL be getting one
Always wanted a trampoline, but NOOOOO because “Other kids would come over and break their neck and our parents would be sued.” Sigh…
A hot wheels car
a puppy!
Would love to have a Puj tub and Maclaren!
I can’t really recall being upset for not getting things that I wanted. We never expected to get everything we asked for and seemed to get the things we wanted most. I do recall one year being a little disappointed that the bike I got was nothing like the bike I wanted but I didn’t let my parents know because I was grateful to at least have a bike.
I always, ALWAYS wanted an easy bake oven. But, to no avail! My parents were much smarter than to leave a child alone with a fake oven and package sweets.
I always wanted a party just for me!
I can’t think of a single thing that I never got that I wanted!
I love Puj products! This is a really great assortment and would be perfect for our little one arriving this summer!
I forgot to answer the question! When I was little, I had a babydoll that I loved. My brother ripped it apart one day during a fight and I always wanted a new one. I would ask for it every year for Christmas, but I never got a replacement.
